Thankful Thursday

I'm I'm so thankful for my comfy pajamas.  I have had a pair of super festive red flannel pajamas for several years that Kent thinks are a little/lot dorky.  I was gifted some this year that are a serious upgrade.

I'm thankful my mother in law can buy jeans for me.  Seriously, I go to the store, try 100 pairs on and come home with something I don't love love.  She orders me a pair online for Christmas and they are perfect.

I'm thankful for Sundays. Kase has recently told us that he only accepts kisses on Sundays.  As in, when I lean in to kiss him he says, "Is it Sunday?" and if the answer is no, he refuses the kiss and runs away.

I'm thankful for all this snow! (For Kylee's sake.) She's been having the best time out playing with friends.

I'm so thankful for this drawing of Kylee's.  She got the game called Telestrations for Christmas and it is so.much.fun! I apologize I can't figure out how to rotate this picture, but it's a Sports Car.  Get it?!

I'm thankful we could borrow my dad's trailer to haul home our many Christmas presents.

I'm thankful for {crazy} cousins.

I'm thankful for the fun time we had sledding.  This year was so much easier than the last few have been as Kase is big enough to go on his own AND walk up the hill on his own.  He did, however, snag a few rides up the hill with Kael pulling him in the sled.

I'm thankful for a fun trip to Chuck E. Cheese!

I'm thankful for all the neighbor crew at the library's Noon Year's Eve party.

I'm thankful my grandma is doing ok.  She's been in the hospital for the last week or so and they're finally finding some answers and able to bring her some relief from the pain.

Happy New Year's, everyone!

Weekend Wrap-Up

What a whirlwind of a few days it has been!

All of our (8) Christmas celebrations are officially over. I'm not sure that even I have enough words to describe how wonderful it has been and how grateful I am for the time we got to spend with family.  I have so many stories and memories I'd love to share so I'll go ahead and do what I always do which is post a ton of pictures.  To our family and friends- we are so thankful for your company and generosity during the holidays!

The kids helped me make Bon Bons on Christmas Eve.

My breakfast chef, dressed in Christmas colors.

Snow!

Walkin' in a winter wonderland.

Sorry for the blurry photo- I think I was as excited as Kael was about his new phone!

Kylee was so excited about Twister.

Kase showing Kent how his hand fits in the gift he gave us.

A favorite family tradition for sure- fondue!

Sprinkling reindeer food on the lawn on Christmas Eve.  The magic of Santa is alive at our house!

Kase was a little unsure of coming down the stairs on Christmas morning- I'm not sure he knew what to expect.  So Kael carried him into the living room.

Any other day of the year this mess would give me anxiety.  On Christmas? It's perfect.

Today is the perfect day for a lot of snow- the kids and I plan to hunker down inside and play with new toys and *hopefully* do at least a little organizing.  I'd love to not trip over a skateboard when I walk through our living room.  Usually I'm the type who takes down the tree the day after Christmas, but I'm not in a hurry this year.  Maybe it's the snow, maybe it's because the kids are a year older and play so well together.  Either way, I'm looking forward to spending this week with my kids!

Thankful Thursday

Merry Christmas Eve to all! What a wonderful time of year.

I'm so thankful for this day to spend with my family.

I'm thankful for these best early morning buddies.

I'm thankful my kids have been enjoying each others' company.  The first few days of break, Kael spent the majority of his time with friends, outside shooting baskets since the weather was so nice.  Yesterday was so rainy, the kids and I just hung out together all day inside.  We baked bon bons, then the kids turned the bunk beds into a fort and played in there for the longest time.  There is nothing better than hearing their giggles and knowing they are having fun together (without electronics involved, I might add)!

I'm so thankful the rain *briefly* turned to snow yesterday!

I'm so very thankful for Christmas Eve church.  Technically this year it was Christmas Eve Eve church for us.  But there is just nothing more special than seeing the kids faces lit up by candlelight while singing O Holy Night.  What a perfect reminder for us to keep the reason for the season at the center of our hearts.

I'm thankful for some fun traditions we have today.  The kids always look forward to making a scavenger hunt for each other for their gifts.  We will also be enjoying some chocolate fondue tonight and everyone is so excited.

Wherever today finds you, may you and yours have a very merry Christmas!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Christmas is in full swing around here!

Kase had his preschool program on Thursday.  It was really cute and he stayed up with his class the whole time.  He didn't sing or do the actions, but he looked pretty cute anyways.

Later that day I had the kids help me open all my gifts from my students.  People are so thoughtful and generous.  I truly cherished opening each and every gift.

Friday was the kids' last day of school before break so I went to their school parties.  Always fun to see them in their element. After school that day Keith and Cindy came down and we spent the afternoon baking cookies then went out for dinner.  A great night!

Saturday we had Christmas in Sheffield with my dad's side of the family.  We are getting to be quite a big group! It was so fun to see everyone.

Sunday we had Christmas here with Kent's dad's side of the family.  We were so disappointed his grandma wasn't feeling up to coming but we had a nice time nonetheless. I spent the afternoon sorting and wrapping gifts.  I can't believe Christmas is so soon! I feel like I still have lots to do!
