Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful that Kent is able to help out/do so many things for the boys. While I was in Omaha Kent took the boys to the sporting goods store and got Kase all set for the upcoming baseball season and Kael for his upcoming track season.

I'm thankful for music class visits.  It is so hilarious and fun to see Kase with his classmates.  I was super proud of him for volunteering to be the first one to sing out loud in front of everyone!

I'm so, so thankful Kael's root canal went well yesterday.  I've been worried about him since he had an infection last week and was so glad to hear everything is ok! He's such a trooper and never complains.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Weekend Wrap-Up

What a beautiful weekend it was!

Friday night Kael went to a friends for a sleepover, Kylee went to the basketball game and Kent, Kase and I met up with some friends to celebrate a birthday at Uptown.  Then we dropped Kase off with Keith, Cindy, Kellen, Krue and King- Kase was so excited to have his cousins all to himself! Then Kent and I met up with the brothers and sister-in-law at Backspin. The boys had a blast golfing! Then we stopped by Fletcher's for some live music before heading home.  Such a fun night.

Kase has been super into playing his Legos lately, which I love!

Saturday morning Kylee had volleyball.  The girls played great during pool play (they were playing up a grade level) but had a tough match in bracket play.  Still so proud of these ladies!

Between matches, Kent took Kase to play outside.  It was gorgeous out!! Meanwhile, Kael was volunteering all day at our youth group's Day of Love.  So proud of that kid!

Later that night we had plans out with neighbor friends. We had a lot of fun and it's so nice to be able to leave our kids home knowing they are getting along and having fun together.

Sunday was another gorgeous weather day! We took a family bike ride and spent as much time as possible outside all day long. Kids hung out with friends and Kase and Kylee each had a practice.  It was a nice day to get a few things done around the house too.

Here's to a great week ahead and hoping everyone stays healthy!

Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful that Kael has stayed in choir.  I just love going to his concerts. He isn't in to show choir and that's totally fine with us but I'm glad he is enjoying choir.  His Pops Concert was really fun!

I'm so thankful Kael is doing ok.  He had some pain in his teeth/gums and Kent took him to get it checked out and he had a pretty bad infection and cyst.  They had to do a little surgery and Kael was home all day yesterday.  He has to do another root canal next week- poor buddy.  He's such a trooper and never complains.  I'm just glad they took care of it before it got any worse.

I'm thankful spring is around the corner.  It seems like everyone I know has been sick and we are so ready to open up the windows and have some fresh air!! Come on, warm weather!

Happy Thursday, all!

Weekend Wrap-Up

What a fun few days it's been for us!

Kase was feeling well enough to go back to school on Friday for his Valentine's party.  I'm so glad I got to go too!

They made some super cute pillows and put hearts inside with a list of things they love.  Kase's list was pretty long!

He was so proud of his Vikings Valentine box!

He had lots of fun with his classmates.

And since Kent was home sick, Kase got to show him all his Valentines when he got home! They had so much fun looking at all the cards and treats from friends.

As soon as Kylee was done with school we headed for a volleyball tournament in Omaha! Her friend rode with us and of course we kicked off the road trip with Starbucks!

We stopped by the complex first so I could get my tickets for the weekend.  What a HUGE, awesome place!

Then we hurried to the hotel so the girls could swim with friends.

Once the whole team arrived Kylee gave everyone some sweet Valentine gifts.

The girls had fun running around the hotel but didn't stay up too late.  The next morning they had breakfast before heading together.

They played great all day! Undefeated!

There were lots of Ankeny teams there- Kylee had fun seeing her friend who is a grade above her but Kylee finally passed her in height!

Our team llama even got some CVA gear!

Back at the hotel the girls swam, then thought it would be a good idea to run outside- ha!

Then we had a fun team pizza dinner.

Day 2 we were ready to go! Lost a close match to a tough team.  I just love Kylee's coach and how she spends time talking with the girls.

A smoothie after a long day of volleyball!

The girls went 2-1 the second day which placed them in the Gold bracket- yay! They spent the afternoon at the hotel doing a selfie scavenger hunt and just hanging out.  Our room was where the team ended up hanging out most of the time which Kylee loved.

Day 3 the girls started off and lost their first set but came back and won big their second set.  It went to a third and we lost 15-13.  Girls were disappointed but handled it so well.  The competition at a big tournament like this was tough! So proud of each of them.

Love these girls!

Back home, Kent was having fun with the boys. He stayed back here because Kase had a basketball tournament (they played great too!)  Kent took Kael and Kase to a movie, Kase had a pool party, Kael had friends sleepover and they even kept the house tidy in my absencse! I know they had a fun boys weekend and we missed having them at the tournament!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day yesterday! This year's photo was memorable because Kase was sick, no one wanted to put on a red shirt and everyone was in a rush to get out the door.  I just about gave up on even trying when Kael quickly ran back upstairs, put on a red shirt and told Kylee and Kase to do the same.  Proud of my oldest buddy for knowing how to make his mama happy.

Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful that Kase is finally back at school today. He tested positive for Influenza A on Wednesday and has spent the last two days at home.  Poor buddy had a high fever and no appetite.  He finally felt better this morning! I'm thankful that Kylee and Kael have stayed healthy too.  Kent and I didn't feel great but hopefully are on the mend.

I'm thankful that Kase is adamant about getting his teacher flowers every year for Valentine's.  So sweet.

I'm thankful for a fun morning with Kylee crafting these volleyball Valentine treats for her friends.  Mike and Spike, get it?! Also a cute volleyball keychain and a Valentine bag filled with pink gum, energy water mix and candy.

I'm thankful for this fun team and their awesome coach.

I'm thankful they all liked the Valentine cupcakes that Kylee and Olivia made!

I'm thankful the kids' eyes still light up when they come downstairs to find little Valentine treats.

I'm thankful for Valentine gifts for my kids (Kase already opened his before I could take a picture) from my parents even though they have both been sick too! Not sure when or how they had time to make these!

Happy Valentine's, all!
