Weekend Wrap-Up, Christmas Edition.

Hello! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday with your families! I typically try to write separately about each Christmas celebration that we have, but this year we had all of ours in a row- back to back to back so I haven't had time to write about any of them yet. So, here goes!

Friday I had lunch with Kase at school before his school party.  He had also filled his good behavior punch card so he got to invite a friend to sit by him too.  First grad lunch is hilarious.  I did find out that he does, in fact, eat everything that I pack for him and is still hungry and has time to eat more.  I promised to start packing him more lunch after break!

This was Kase before school- all ready for break!

His party was really cute and lots of parents were there to help out.

He had fun with all his buddies!

Kylee's party was great too.  Fifth graders seem so grown up.

Kylee just loves her class this year.

When we got home from school, Kent came home soon after.  He brought me the most beautiful Christmas flowers!

Then, later that evening my friend brought over the rug we had ordered from her! I am so, SO happy with it and it was the last thing we were waiting on to be finalized after the house flood earlier this year.

Keith and Cindy came down for pizza, then Kent and the boys went to Kevin's basketball game while Kylee headed for bowling and a sleepover with friends. She had originally planned to go painting with Cindy and a bunch of the Dunshee clan but I went in her place.  It was a fun night!

Kylee had planned to paint this for us as a surprise and gift for Christmas- I love the design she picked and I was so happy with how it turned out.

She would have loved to have gone but I know she had fun with her friends.

Saturday was Christmas in Sheffield with my dad's side of the family.  We're getting to be a big group! The kids looked so nice all dressed up.

What a crew! Just missing Rob, who was home since he didn't feel well.

The three amigos.

It was great to see all the family.  We did several different gift exchanges back at my Grandpa's house after eating lunch at the golf club. Great day!

We headed straight from there to Collins to celebrate with the Dunshee family.

Can you believe Kent, his dad and brothers all wore plaid without even planning it? Love it.

The kids all loved their gifts and the adults had fun with a gift exchange.

Sunday morning we headed to my parents' for the day!

Cousins are the best buddies.

Berkely just loved Kent.  She kept running up to him all day long.  It was really sweet.

Kase couldn't have been happier with all his Hawkeye things.

So many fun memories.

The oldest and youngest cousin on that side.

It was so nice out that a few of us took a trip to a nearby park!

Then back for more games and food!

Cousin crew.

The girls got matching shirts! So cute.

It was such a great day with the family .

Kent didn't work at all on Christmas Eve so we had our own little family Christmas. Kent and Kylee were up early putting together my new popcorn machine.

We made chocolate chip donuts and breakfast burritos.

Played games all day.

Kylee had the sweetest homemade gifts for us.  She even made sure that her brothers contributed and had something for us to unwrap from them too!

Hard to tell in the picture but the boys gave each other (without even knowing) matching Hawkeye hats!

Kylee helped me set out a bunch of snacks.

Oh, Kael.  He cracks me up.

And one of the biggest highlights was the ping pong table that Kent picked out for himself the kids. They all loved it and we have been playing it so much!

They had a great time with a good/bad soda challenge.

And then Kase was crowned winner of our first annual Christmas family ping pong tournament!

Then we got all dressed up and went to Christmas Eve church.  My very favorite service of the whole year.  The kids all did so well and the church, the candles...all of it was just so special.

We came home and had pizza then made our chocolate fondue! The kids also opened one more gift- they found out that we are going to Disney and on a Disney cruise over Spring Break! So that was super fun.  We watched a few videos about the cruise and had a great time talking about it and now I'm glad they can be part of the planning too!

The next morning, Kael and Kylee waited very patiently for Kase to wake up.  Typically I let them wake him but he had come into our room in the middle of the night and thrown up.  Poor buddy.  The bigs waited more than two hours for him to wake up! We passed the time by playing cards in Kael's room.

Ah, Christmas! It's just the best.

Kase definitely wasn't 100% but he was feeling better.

Kent loved his new American flag ping pong paddle!

We spent the morning playing a few more games.

Then headed to Collins to celebrate with Kent's family!

What a great day.  Our time with them is always too short! The kids loved all their gifts.  They loved spending time with Kellen and we even fit in a nice long walk around Collins while it was nice out!

Another highlight of the day was watching Kyle and Julia's wedding video.

Kase was the big winner on lottery scratch tickets! He won $20!

We had a super fun adult gift exchange.  Was this golden microphone/speaker made just for Kyle or what?!

The whole crew.  What a great day.

We spent yesterday morning putting the house back together.  Took down Christmas stuff, organized presents.  It felt so good and the kids all helped out.  So later that afternoon we went bowling at the new theater!

It was really cool and Kael loved that his ball was his favorite number and favorite color together!

Whew! It's been a great week and I can't wait to keep on spending time with my favorite people.
