Weekend Wrap-Up

I just love our weekends.  We've been crossing stuff off our Summer Bucket List and clocking some seriously awesome family time!

Last week Kase had a sleepover at his cousin's house.  It was the first sleepover he had besides at a grandparents' house.  I know he had fun!

The next day Kylee, Kase and I rode bikes to Hawkeye Park while Kael was at weightlifting.

Then later that afternoon the big kids both had plans with friends.  Kael went to Adventureland and Kylee was at the pool with a friend so Kase and I went to the zoo! It was so fun and also hilarious.  He practically sprinted through the entire place in less than an hour.  We saw every animal there.  Then he played at the parks for awhile before heading home.

The next day we had a lemonade stand! Kylee and her friend mostly ran it and even delivered lemonade to the guys working at the school on the outdoor classroom that's being built!

That night we had my parents and Tammy and her kids over for dinner. It was such a nice night! We played at the park and played some bocce ball. The kids love spending time with cousins and grandparents.

The next morning was the triathlon.  Easily one of my favorite days of the entire summer.

This was Kael's sixth one and Kylee's fourth one!

Kylee and her training group.

The kids gave it their all! I'm so proud of them.

Go, Kael, go! He really ran hard at the end and finished strong!

Huston is cheering Kael on in the pool!

Kylee and her coach watching the results come in.

First place! She was nervous going into the race because she heard a few girls in her age division had done more than 30 triathlons.  But she didn't let it get to her and she ended up winning!

So thankful for all the family to come out and support my kids!

Kylee and Tanner have known each other since preschool. It was his first tri and she had fun showing him the ropes.  He did a great job!

That afternoon we rode bikes up to Miracle League with Keith and Cindy.  What a great way to spend the afternoon!

Then, Sunday Funday! We started off our morning with a bike ride to a park that had some new playground equipment.

And later we went boating.  Kael and Kylee had so much fun tubing!

We spent the rest of the evening at my parents.  Played outside and had dinner and Kase climbed trees.

It was another great weekend!

Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful the kids are still having fun with their Adventureland passes.  Kael wanted to be dropped off at the pool the other day so Kase and Kylee each took a friend along to Adventureland.  It was a fun way to spend the afternoon!

I'm thankful for my mom, who watched the kids the other day so I get get some back to school shopping and Kylee birthday shopping done!

I'm thankful Kael tried something new at one of his favorite restaurants after getting the exact same thing for the last 10 years. He loved it!

I'm thankful for family.  Love that my kids get to hang out with their cousins!

Have a great weekend!

Weekend Wrap-Up

We have fit so much in this summer.  Here's what we did this weekend!

Thursday Kylee had sand volleyball (after a crazy pop up storm that luckily missed us!)

And we met Tam and her kids at the park.  Kylee and her friend had fun playing at Miracle League too.

Meanwhile, Kael was at the pool.  All day! He loves it! He's really excited about the "Kael Special" he made up, which is essentially a running side flip off the high dive.  Super cool.

That night Kylee had her last night of team camp.  She's been having the best time with her volleyball friends!

The next day Kylee had a babysitting clinic and Kael wanted to go to the pool again, so I got to spend the day with Kase.  We went on a bike ride and went to a few parks.  It was nice hanging with him one-on-one!

Friday night, Kylee had a birthday party.  The boys hung out with Keith and Cindy and Kent and I went to the Home Show Expo with our friends.  So fun.

The next morning we went to Polk City to see my sister and her family in the parade!

The cousins had fun seeing each other, even if it was only for a little while!

These two danced their little hearts out.

That afternoon we had a couples shower in Collins for Kyle and Julia.  It was a fun night with family! The kids hung out with my dad and mom- had dinner out then stopped at a favorite park!

The next day we declared to be Patterson Family Sunday Funday.  We'd gotten to see a lot of friends and family over the previous few days, so we decided to have a day, just us.  The boys woke up early and watched a movie while Kent and I went for a walk.  After making pancakes for breakfast, we all walked to church.

When we got home we set up the canopy in the backyard.  Played some baseball and badminton, then had lunch on the patio.

Later we loaded the bikes up and went to Johnston.  We had a nice ride and stopped at Van Dee's for ice cream!

We also found a fun park to play at.  Love that my kids aren't too big yet to enjoy some park time together!

We got home, then cooled off at the pool!

We came home and relaxed a little, then had dinner on the deck.  We played a little more baseball, had a Nerf war, then watched a movie.  It was a great day!
