Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful for cousin bowling! Seriously this was such a fun afternoon!

I'm thankful for a good snow storm! The kids loved being out in it and Kase, of course, wanted to play football in it. Because that's what Kase does.  Football, all day, every day.

I'm thankful for good friends and snow ice cream.

I'm thankful for a teenage son who is willing to help his dad clear his grandparents' driveway on the night of the snowstorm.

Kase is thankful for a sweet fresh haircut. He is far and away my child most interested in being trendy.

Yes, that's a lightning bolt shaved into the side of his head.  He is thrilled.

I'm thankful that Kylee got to have a fun sleepover with a new friend Tuesday night.

I'm thankful that Kael was willing to play on the big snow pile at the school with Kase the other day when I made encouraged them both to get off their iPads/phones/Switch/xBoxes/VR. Turns out they can have fun together outside!!!

I'm super thankful for Cindy who popped over last night to hang with Kase while the big kids were at a sleepover and a practice so I could surprise Kent and take him out for dinner to celebrate some recent work accomplishments.

We don't have big New Year's plans this year and honestly, that is just fine with me.  I'm looking forward to clocking some more time with my favorite people.  We've been into playing Sequence, Genius Star and Trivial Pursuit.  It's going to be a great night!

Wishing you all the best in 2021!

Weekend Wrap-Up

We have had such a wonderful Christmas weekend! Here are all the pictures.

My photos don't do it justice but we did try to see the Bethlehem Star last week! So cool

The kids were excited to be done with school on Tuesday and Kylee had fun helping organize gifts under the tree.  All the ones toward the left were from her to all of us.  She is so thoughtful and had so many gifts for us!

Kylee and her friend were excited to see snow and we were all excited that we were going to have at least a little bit of a white Christmas. I guess you can't really see the snow in the photo but it was there!

Christmas Eve is always our own family day.  Kent doesn't go to work and we spend the whole day together.  Kase was up early and excited!

He and Kent had a little time for early morning hot tubbing before everyone else got up.

Kase was sad to say good-bye to our elf and Prancer.

Finally everyone was awake!

We made breakfast pizza and cinnamon rolls.

Then the kids wanted to start by giving their gifts to each other. Kase found a comfy spot under out puzzle table.

He was super excited about his xBox gift card from Kael.  All the kids got great gifts for each other.

The kids were thrilled to give their gifts to us too.  Kent loved his American flag mug!

And we were so wowed by Kylee's paintings! She has such talent and she spent so much time working on these!

We had lunch at Leaning Tower and were blown away when we got our bill and saw that it had been covered! There was a sweet card just saying they hoped we would pay it forward in the community.  The kids had fun brainstorming ideas of how they would pay it forward.

We got home and finished opening gifts.

Some highlights were a giant bean bag, a Nintendo Switch and a VR headset. But the best part of all was just spending the day together.

The day flew by! We went to Christmas Eve church and it felt so good to be back. Seeing the kids faces lit up by candlelight was just my favorite part of the whole day.

We got home and made spaghetti for our candlelight dinner.

Then, fondue!

We watched Home Alone 4 then got everyone tucked in! Kylee was so sweet to have a sleepover with Kase so he would have no trouble getting right to sleep!

Kase woke up early and immediately woke up Kylee saying, "It's Christmas!!!" Kylee had gotten a text from Kael in the middle of the night saying, "If I'm not up by 6:45 and you guys are, please wake me up." So we spent some time looking at old photo books while we waited to wake Kael.

The kids raced downstairs to see their gifts!

Everyone was so sweet and thankful and happy about all their gifts. They are just at such fun ages.

My parents stopped by quickly to see the kids' gifts then we spent a little time just hanging out letting the kids play with their new things then we headed to Keith and Cindy's.

We had brunch then played a few Minute to Win It games!

Silly girls.

The kids all got some pretty great gifts!

And the kids are so good with Kellen and Krue.  We all loved spending time with the whole fam.

The aunts and uncles spoiled them with some pretty great gifts too!

We came home happy, tired, and thankful.  Kylee kept saying, "I'm seriously the luckiest girl ever."

The next day we spent organizing/taking down the tree/cleaning and playing with all our new things! We had a nice family night playing a bunch of our new games.

Sunday we had a lazy morning at home then Keith and Cindy stopped by to see all the kids' Santa presents.  We spent the rest of the day playing our new games and just hanging out.  Kase had a friend's birthday party. It looks like they had a great time! Kent and I enjoyed some time with the big kids and sat in the hot tub, played VR and watched a movie that Kase wouldn't have enjoyed as much.

Feeling super thankful and happy for a great holiday weekend!
