Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful our family doctor had an open 4:00 appointment on a Friday afternoon.  Kael had been having a sore throat all week. Then Kylee woke up with her eye looking a little pink.  Turns out it was just viral, but I was thankful to get everyone checked out.

I'm thankful that Central College sent Kase a birthday present- he couldn't have been happier about his beach ball!

I'm thankful that Kent was available when Kael asked us at the last possible minute to join his guest meal at Family Consumer Science.

I'm thankful that even though he has his student ID picture taken, Kase still has a few months before heading to kindergarten.  He's ready, but I'm not sure I am!

I'm thankful for this picture with Kent's dad's side of the family.  We don't get together nearly often enough but I love that we finally have a big group shot!

I'm thankful that a quick medical procedure I had done yesterday went smoothly.  Also thankful my mom was flexible on being able to watch Kase after the office mixed up my appointment times.

I'm thankful that I come home to pictures like this when I accidentally leave my phone.

I'm thankful to have our April calendar finally figured out.  Seriously it's like a puzzle trying to fit in all the sports and activities and birthday celebrations.  Here's to a month full of fun!

Weekend Wrap-Up (before vacation)

Throwing it waaaay back here but I found some pictures on my phone I wanted to share.  Here are some more pictures from when we met baby Berkley! We all just love her.  So fun having another baby in the family for the kids to adore!

Kylee twinning with her friend.  Seriously what are the odds they would both wear fish pants and pink shirts to school on the same day? They didn't plan it at all!

Here is some lovely chalk work she did with another friend.

So, the weekend before break.  The kids didn't have school on Friday but they sure were up at 5:45.  We played some early morning Candyland, got donuts and just hung out and played around the house and neighborhood.  It was a lovely day.  Later we had dinner at Applebee's because I had no groceries in the house.  Ha!

S

Saturday morning it had snowed.  The kids played outside with friends. Then we had lunch at Jethro's with my parents because I still had no groceries in the house.  Kent and I then finished up a little shopping and later that night we had family game night and pizza with some of our besties!

Sunday we spent hanging around here.  Filled out basketball brackets! Later Keith and Cindy came.  The girls got pedicures- we tried a new place close to my house and loved it! Kylee got her nails done too and they were so cute! Totally ready to hit the beach! Then we had dinner with Keith and Cindy at Leaning Tower.

By Sunday night, all our bags were packed and we were ready to go!!

Vacation, The Final Days

We always loved walking to this area in the mornings.  It was right by the beach near the breakfast restaurant we ate at.  So very peaceful.

Kylee would have walked this beach for miles and miles.

We happened upon this- someone had written "Iowa" in the sand!

My beach babes.

Then, back to the pool!

I'm going to miss this view so much!

Kael was so proud he got Kent up on his shoulders!

Then, switch!

Kase too!

Ahhhh.

Kael and his buddies tried to do a triple stack.

And they were so happy when they got it!

The girls weren't going to be left out of the fun.

And then the boys saw this thing by the side of the pool. Eeek!

Final night dinner.  Happy, tired, happy, a little sunburned, but mostly very happy.

Me and my love.

The ladies! We just loved hanging with this sweet family all trip.

One final, perfect sunset.

One more.  (Without our name tags on this time. Rookie mistake ;)

There was a super fun photo booth that night for the families.  Here is one of Kylee with her friend and also a little boy on the trip who just adored Kylee and wanted to hang out with her all the time!

This is one of the guys we hung out with most of the week.  He and Kent had a lot of great conversations about surviving the first year of Edward Jones! They both must be doing something right since they both qualified for this trip.

This was the morning before we flew home. Last view from our balcony.

Here are a couple random photos- our snack basket that was refilled daily.

Kylee saying adios to the beach.

Kase too.

Last breakfast on the beach.

Time to go home.

Kylee LOVED this pillow she ordered off the pillow menu.

Kase wanted to take pictures of Kent and me to help pass time until our shuttle to the airport got there. Then, Kylee and I souvenir shopped a little.  She loved the little jewelry dish she found.

Here's a picture of the peacocks again!

And here are the kids doing crafts during one of the dinners. The kids activities were so great!

And the pinata Kylee made! She desperately wanted to bring it home but I wasn't sure how it would fit in the carry on.  So she agreed to just have a picture of it.

At the Puerto Vallarta airport.

We made it through customs in the Denver airport with not a minute to spare.  The kids were all SUCH good travelers. I can't say enough about how awesome they are.  They all declare it to be the Best Vacation Ever and are already asking if we can go back soon.  What wonderful memories we will have of this amazing trip! So good to go, and like always, it's so good to be home.
