Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful the Jaguar volleyball team (rated #2) beat #1 Johnston Tuesday night!!! We love going to the games and it's even more fun when they win big matches like that!

I'm thankful we survived the last two weeks. School meetings, sports practices.... We were swamped! I'm so thankful for Kent being able to help run the kids to and from events and help me "divide and conquer" when it comes to making it to everything!

I'm thankful (in advance) for some prayers for my dad today. He's having surgery on a torn meniscus and we are hopeful for a speedy recovery!

I'm so thankful for this week with Kase. The big kids are in school and he isn't yet so we have take full advantage of our time together! We have ridden a lot of miles on the bikes and been to several parks. I just love, love bike riding with him!

I'm thankful for Kylee's bond with Kase. Make no mistake, Kael and Kase are close too and so are Kael and Kylee, but Kylee has been extra helpful with Kase lately. She helps him make birthday cards  for family, she has read him books, and helped entertain him during Kael's football practices. So thankful.

I'm thankful for my village. My mom helped out with Kase several times this week so I could volunteer at Kylee's school. I have several neighbors who have shared rides to and from middle school, and many more people who help us get through these crazy busy weeks!

We are so looking forward to the long weekend!!! Have a great one, guys!

Weekend Wrap-Up

I love weekends. Especially with all the fall craziness that has already started!! We need our weekends!

Thursday, Kylee had her first Cross Country race! She ran hard and really enjoyed it. Meanwhile, Kent and Kael were at football practice then later that evening all the neighbor guys came over to draft for their fantasy football league.

Friday night we had one last neighbor get together before some of our dear friends move. The neighborhood (and church, and preschool...) will not be the same without them!

Saturday we watched some Jag volleyball, got some things done around the house, Kylee had cross country practice, and then Keith and Cindy came to visit. They got to see Kase ride his bike without training wheels!!! It's so fun seeing Kase take off- he learned so quickly and is loving how fast he can go now!!! So proud of my littlest buddy. It makes me happy/sad though. He's definitely growing up too fast!

Sunday after church we had lunch with Kent's family in Collins then went to the pool with friends. Later, Kylee and I made salsa with tomatoes and peppers from our garden, then the kids played with friends until it looked like a storm was about to roll in. We headed inside for family game night and some AFV.

The week/weekend was a good one. Kids seem to have settled into a school routine. Kylee found out that one of her classmates is in her running club which made them insta-friends. Kael is confidently navigating middle school and is happy with more independence. Plus, his beloved Bengals were on Sunday Night Football tonight so he was extra happy. Kase is keeping busy during the day and hasn't really noticed how quiet the house is without the big kids home. I'm really looking forward to spending some quality time with him before we start preschool next week.

How was your first weekend of the school year?

Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful for pictures I find on Kael's phone.

I'm thankful for the time my kids have gotten to spend with cousins lately! Also thankful I ran across these pictures that I thought I posted a few weeks ago!

I'm thankful for the adventures my dad takes my kids on.  Last week he picked Kase up early in the morning and took him to the fair!

They had a great time.

I'm thankful that Kael still loves his Key West hat and shirt.

I'm so thankful for Uncle Kevin! Amidst all his wedding craziness he still even ordered Kylee some SUPER cute shoes for her birthday.

I'm thankful for when Kase asks to get his picture taken AND smiles for the camera!

I'm thankful for neighbor buddies.

I'm so thankful for a text from my sister, who lives next door to Kael's health teacher. "Tell your sister Kael is in my room and he is doing well!!! He had no trouble finding my room! All smiles!" Seriously that text made.my.day! I'm so very thankful to have someone on the "inside" who can keep an eye out on Kael for me!

I'm thankful for one last hurrah before summer was over- my mom and I took the kids to Perfect Games on Monday and the kids had so much fun bowling, playing arcade games and lazer tag!

I'm thankful for First Day of School traditions.

Thankful for our village.  Our school walking group just keeps growing every year!

I'm thankful for Last Day of Summer traditions like going to a park in Altoona with our besties...

and decorating the sidewalk to school with chalk...

and frozen yogurt!

I'm so thankful for this lady and her friendship.  Her kids are pretty awesome too!

I'm thankful Kase still loves making cookies with me!

I'm thankful the kids still love the sandbox!

I'm thankful for a few more pictures I found from the reception last weekend.  The last one is one the band took- the kids all had so much fun dancing!

Weekend Wrap-Up

What a beautiful weekend celebrating!

Friday night we spent celebrating some good friends/neighbors who are moving soon.  We are so sad to see them go but know they will be such a blessing in their new community!

Saturday we celebrated Kevin and Kaity and had an absolute blast at their reception! Kids had fun helping set up during the day, we had an awesome time dancing the night away to the live band and had a great cabin to stay in with Keith and Cindy! We've had so much fun having an extra reason to see all the family this summer and we're sad to see the wedding celebrations come to an end! Here are some picture of the gorgeous night!

Back to reality this week with school starting on Wednesday!
