We had a great weekend in Boston! I flew out Friday morning and met Kent, who had been there since Wednesday. Such a cool view flying into the city!
After I dropped my stuff off at the hotel, we took a quick tour of Sam Adams.
Cheers to vacation!
Then we walked around the city a little. The Boston Public Library was so neat.
And the Esplanade (river walk) was just gorgeous.
Then we headed to Fenway! This was such a highlight, you guys.
Front row! Our seats were incredible.
We even saw ourselves on the big screen! The weather was perfect and it was just such a nice night. So cool to have been there!
The next morning we had a little time to wander around before breakfast. Boston is just so charming.
Then we walked the Freedom Trail! Boston Public Gardens were absolutely stunning. We stopped by this George Washington statue and sent a video to Kase, who had the sweetest reply- a quote from Hamilton. It was awesome.
Tons of cool, historic spots. Kent especially loved this one, where the Declaration of Independence was read aloud in public for the very first time!
Bunker Hill!
We had walked several miles that morning which was great because the weather was so nice and then we were ready for lunch! Kent had a lobster roll at this cute place in the harbor area.
Then we walked to Harpoon Brewery for a little refreshment. This area had such a cool, hip vibe.
Next we headed to see Cheers!
It had been a full, awesome day at this point so we headed back to the hotel to relax for just a bit then got dressed up and ready for dinner in the North End.
We had so much fun walking around here before dinner, seeing the oldest restaurant and oldest tavern in the US.
This old brick street was so awesome!
This is where we ate dinner. So thankful for Kent who had made reservations before time. It was busy in the North End that night! The food was amazing, too.
We finished our night by stopping at Top of the Hub. What a gorgeous view of the city from more than 50 floors up, seeing Boston all lit up at night.
We had such a nice getaway but were also so glad to hear from the kids back home. Kylee had such a fun time Friday night at the Drake volleyball game with her friends!
Kylee is part of Spike's Dog Pack (a camp she goes to at Drake) and they had a special event for all members after the matches. Kylee and her friends got to have an ice cream social with the players!
She loved getting to hang out with the team.
Meanwhile, Kael was at a sleepover with a friend and Kase got to visit Kellen! Such sweet buddies.
Saturday Keith and Cindy took the kids to the orchard. Looked like the perfect day for it!
They loved the new hay pyramid!
We got home almost in time for Kase's football game Sunday, which ended up getting rained out anyways. We enjoyed spending the afternoon together, just hanging out, getting ready for the week. We are so thankful for our village who helps us out so Kent and I can have fun little weekend trips like this!
