April is always crazy and busy but this year even more so.
Kase and his after school buddies had fun watching the storm roll in with Kylee the other day. What a bunch of goofballs.
One of Kase's best buddies is moving soon so the gang all went to an Iowa Wild game Friday night for a little going away party. Kase had a blast and was excited to tell me about all the fights that happened. I think Kase could have made a good hockey player- ha! While he was gone Kent and I had a nice dinner out and evening with Kael and Kylee.
Saturday was a big day- my grandpa's funeral. I am so, so very thankful for all the memories with him. He really was one of the best. It was such a nice service- just being in the church where we spent so many Easter mornings and hearing from the pastor who was one of my grandpa's good friends...it was just very meaningful and special. And so sad. I'm going to miss him so much. We spent the afternoon back at his house with family just sharing memories and catching up with each other.
We headed back to Ankeny by mid afternoon and Kael had plans to celebrate his birthday with his friends. He invited some buddies to go to Rube's for dinner- such a Kael birthday and I love it.
I'm so happy for Kael.
Meanwhile, since Kylee was at a sleepover, Kase and I went to visit Keith and Cindy who were watching Kellen and Krue since Kaity and Kevin were out of town. Kase had fun hanging out with them!
Sunday we had a nice, lazy morning- Kent and I went for a long walk, watched church online. Kael went to the gym, Kase did some homework and reading. Later some of Kase's friends came to play. Then Kent and Kase had batting practice with his team. My parents stopped by, Kylee helped me pick out some gifts for Kael and Kael hung out with friends. Later Kylee had volleyball practice and Kent and Kael enjoyed the ribs they smoked for dinner. It was a really nice day!
Busy week ahead!
