We had a great weekend celebrating our favorite guy!
Kent came in and saved the day last Thursday when Kase was not wanting to do his homework. Kent turned on the Hamilton sound track and Kase was good to go!
Then we all headed to Kael's game! I just love football Thursdays. It was such a nice night out and we love watching Kael play. Thankful for all the family that always comes out to support him too!
He and Kylee finished up some homework together after the game.
Friday was a bit of a rough one. Kylee woke up not feeling well but luckily had a well child visit scheduled that day anyways. Turned out she did have strep so we were glad to get her some meds but she was on the couch most of the weekend. Poor girl! Kent and I did get to go out for a quick dinner with Kevin and Kaity though, so that was fun! Kael and his buddies went to the Junkyard 5th quarter again and then slept over at our house. I'm loving this tradition and hoping it continues through all of football season.
Saturday Kent had a golf outing scheduled with some friends in support of a mutual friend who has cancer. It was a great turnout- 145 golfers! The kids and I had a relaxing day at home and enjoyed watching the Hawkeye game.
And also backyard football, of course.
Later in the afternoon we got the idea to surprise Kent when he got home for a Birthday Eve party. His golf outing took longer than expected so the kids and I had time to set up this America themed party for him complete with his favorite apple crisp!
We all even wore patriotic shirts and jumped out to surprise him when he walked in the door.
Kylee had a sweet gift for him.
And Kael was so proud to give him a Wig and Pen gift card- Kent's favorite place!
We had dinner out (at Wig and Pen, of course) then came back here for dessert and a family AGT night.
Sunday we made Kent breakfast burritos then headed to church. Later he took the big kids to drive golf balls while Kase and I went to meet my sister's new puppy! So sweet.
Meanwhile, Kent took the bigs to drive golf balls. They had fun!
Later that afternoon was Kase's first game. Go Vikings! They are such a fun team to watch. And Kael got to run chain gang!
We brought cookies and purple and yellow Gatorades for Kent's birthday to share with the team. They all loved it!
Kylee and Berkley had fun watching together.
We got home, Kent put some pork chops on the Traeger for dinner and we had a nice, relaxing night. A great birthday weekend!
