Weekend Wrap-Up

Want to see some pictures from our trip to New York?!

Kent flew in Thursday morning and had meetings Thursday afternoon and Friday morning.  I landed midday on Friday and got to the hotel just a little before he was done with meetings.  I had time to walk around the area near our hotel and stumbled upon St. Patrick's Cathedral!

We stayed at the Lotte New York Palace in midtown.  Such a great location!

I also had time to buy myself a bagel before Kent was done with meetings.  It was SO good.

When Kent got done, we took off to explore! Rockerfeller Center was very near our hotel.  Came across the Lego store and took a picture for Kase! Also saw Times Square.

We also visited beautiful Bryant Park.

Saw NBC Studios and Radio City Music Hall.

Grand Central Station.

And had fun checking out the New York Library!

Then headed back to the hotel to get ready for dinner.  We loved this Italian restaurant!

Had time for cheesecake after dinner at Junior's.

Then headed to see Hamilton on Broadway!

It was so, SO good, you guys.  Even better than I hoped for! The talent just blew us away. It was a night I will never forget!

The next morning we headed downtown and had breakfast at this cute little café.  We loved their door sign! Ha! (The oth:er side of the sign said, "I'm sorry, we're closed, but we're still awesome.")

Saw the 9/11 Memorial, then went to the Financial District- saw the NY Stock Exchange, the Charging Bull, Wall Street.  Then we walked to Battery Park and saw the Statue of Liberty- it was a little cool and cloudy so we didn't take the ferry out to it.

Next we went to the Brooklyn Bridge! Had a nice walk halfway across and great views!

Then we walked around Central Park for quite awhile.  It was such a nice morning.  Saw the Trump Tower on our walk to lunch at Angelou's.

The pizza was so good!

After lunch we went to the cutest little bakery and had an amazing cookie and scone!

Next we walked the High Line and strolled Chelsea Market.  The sun had come out and it was a gorgeous afternoon!

Since it cleared off a little we decided to go to the top of the Empire State Building!

What a view!

By this time we had walked over fifteen miles and about 33,000 steps so we were ready to relax! We found a little rooftop bar near our hotel- the picture didn't turn out at all but we had the best views of the Chrysler building!

It was the perfect ending to our evening.

The next morning we took our time having a nice relaxing morning then found an awesome place for brunch.  Had fun walking around the neighborhood while we waited for it to open!

Next we headed to the Museum of Natural History.  It was the perfect place to spend a rainy morning!

Later that afternoon we strolled 5th Avenue and had fun looking in some shops.

Then, since it was cinco de mayo, we found a fun Mexican restaurant for lunch!

It was such a good trip.  We enjoyed a quick getaway and loved the city, it's walkability, the food the hotel and all the touristy spots.  We were definitely ready to get home and see our crew though! Loved getting pictures from them while we were away.

Kylee sent me this picture on Friday night and I responded with the one below.  Ha! #lookalikes

Thankful for our village who helped out with the kids while we were gone.  Kylee had a friend take her to a park and for a sleepover.  Another friend took her to Adventureland.  The boys each had a game and Kael even took a video of Kase batting for me so we wouldn't miss it! Another team parent/friend sent one too.  Kael and Kase also had fun bowling with Keith and Cindy! Sounds like the weather was beautiful while we were away and by all accounts a great weekend for everyone back here too.
