Pictures

For those who don't follow me on Instagram, here are a few more photos from our week, in no particular order. :) A few from Adventureland, the zoo, Sheffield, and a pool party in Collins!

The kids watched a snake shed it's skin then they both touched the snake and its skin! Eeek!

Kylee's hitching a ride from Kent.

Happy Fourth!

What a great week it's been!

A- frame

We have been trying to get up to Sheffield all summer long.  My grandparents have a pond up there with the most picturesque A-frame house built on it and the kids have been dying to have a sleepover there! The weather hasn't cooperated- every time we try to go it seems like there is a thunderstorm.  Yesterday we finally made it up there and it was the PERFECT place to spend our Fourth of July.  Wanna see?

Just look at that form!

Catch me, Daddy!

Nice fish, Kael!

So patriotic.

These two had so much fun playing together all day.

Flip!

Homemade raspberry ice cream. YUM.

The weather was a dream, the food was good and the company was GREAT!

Adventureland!

Nothing says summer to me more than a trip to Adventureland.  I have such fond memories of going there with my cousins when I was younger.  My kids' cousins are still pretty little but hopefully in future years we can all go together.

Monday I called my mom early to see if she would be up for a trip to Adventureland with my and the kids.  She was! Kent had to work and I know as soon as my sister's baby is born (Come on, Baby Simms! Get here!) my mom will be helping out with the babe so I thought I'd better take full advantage of Grandma time while I'm not babysitting this week.

The day was, in a word, perfect.  We were there as soon as it opened and stayed until after it closed.  Really.  They had to kick us off the Falling Star at about 9:05. :)  The weather was awesome and my dad even joined us later in the day! Kase took a couple naps in the stroller and was otherwise thrilled to be riding rides like a big kid.

42 inches is like the magic, "you can ride anything" height and Kylee checks in at about 45 inches so she was set! It was so fun watching her ride the Dragon and Tornado with Kael.  They love roller coasters!

What a great day! We're hoping to go back later this summer so Kent can go with us.

Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful for a husband who cares enough about this blog to remind me that, "It's Thursday, you know, Laura." As in, "I was hoping to read a Thankful Thursday post today."

I'm thankful for the amazing week we have had so far (Adventureland, Zoo, Despicable Me 2, pizza party with family, a trip to Sheffield, sparklers with neighbors and watching fireworks off the deck). Stories and pictures to come. Promise.

I am thankful for even more fun ahead. Kids are seriously looking forward to the pool party tomorrow!

I'm thankful for the fireworks I hear popping outside my window. I love the Fourth of July!

I am really thankful the aforementioned fireworks aren't waking my sleepy kids. :)

I am thankful for the smell of sparklers. It just brings back so many great childhood memories!

I am really thankful Kent had taken a few days off work which is so uncharacteristic of him.  But it has been awesome getting to enjoy lots of time with him doing fun stuff with the kids!

I am thankful for knowing the right people. Kent scored some great tickets to see the Cardinals play in a few weeks. St. Louis, here we come?!?!

I am thankful I have been able to stay awake long enough to write this without falling asleep and bonking my head on my phone. :)

Good night everyone! Happy 4th of July!!!
