Weekend Wrap-Up

Thursday night Kylee had a home track meet.  It was pretty chilly and had rained earlier (in fact, Kael didn't get to go to his meet because the throwing pit was too wet).  Kylee had a great meet running the 4x800, 4x200 and 4x400! She had PRs in all events- technically it was her first time ever running the 4x200 but she had a great time!

Love that Garrett came to watch her and stayed the whole time!

Kase had a couple friends stay over that night and the next morning they went to Keith and Cindy's to play wiffle ball.  They had a blast and even made their way over to the football field to run around for awhile.  Later Kent took Kase and Weston to Velocity to get some work in.  Kael was working and Kylee and Garrett were here most of the day helping me get ready for their get together with friends later that night.

Kylee had track (in the hail!) that afternoon and the rest of us went to Keith and Cindy's to celebrate the April birthdays.  The kids all have the best time together.  So glad we squeezed a celebration in amongst all our busy lives!

Kase had fun pitching to Kellen.

And giving her some tips on how to swing.

Kylee even surprised us and stopped by for a little bit right after track! Everyone was so happy to see her.

Birthday boys!

They opened gifts and Kase was excited about his tennis shoes and Kael gets to go SKYDIVING with Keith later this summer! That will be really exciting for him!

Later Kent took the boys to a movie and Kylee had a bunch of friends over to hang out.  They ordered pizza, played ping pong and cards and had a fun night.

Saturday Kase was supposed to have a tournament but we woke up to snow and it was really cold so they cancelled for that day.  Kael had work and Kylee had track- so proud of both of them.  Kael works so hard and Kylee didn't complain at all about having to go run on a chilly Saturday morning.

Kase spent the day playing with friends, Kylee's boyfriend came over and later we all went to dinner at Simons. It was so lovely and I appreciated Kent making the reservation and ordering me a cake!

Sunday was The Walk celebration for Kael! It is our church's version of confirmation and the kids can choose when they want to do it- anytime in ninth grade or later.  I'm really happy Kael chose to do it and was so thankful for all of our family there to support him! Feeling so loved that everyone took time out of their busy lives to make Kael feel special.

So proud.

Kael and his mentor, Adam.  They were a great match and I'm really thankful for their connection! Kael has known Adam ever since he started Junkyard.

Our youth director, Doug! He was the leader when I was there! Super special moment for sure.

Walk Class of 2023!!! We all celebrated and there was even a confetti cannon!

Love this guy so much.

We all split ways after church- Kent and Kase took off for baseball, Mandy and Tyson too.  My parents and the Simms went for lunch with Kael and Kylee and Brooklyn while I quickly got ready for an afternoon of  baseball!

Kase had two games- Kylee and Garrett and my parents and Kent's parents all came to watch.  They kept it close with a really good team and played really well.  We lost that one but won the second one by a lot.  Fun day for the boys and Kase made a diving catch that we will all be talking about for a long time! Kael had a friend over to watch a movie.

We stopped for Mexican on the way home- the OG Patterson 5- since we hadn't all been able to go together out for lunch and it was nice to recap our day and just be together.  Kael headed to the gym and the rest of us spent our evening getting ready for the week! What a great weekend!
