Weekend Wrap-Up

Fun weekend for Kael especially this weekend.

Friday he had a track meet in Cedar Rapids and Kent was able to go watch.  So thankful for Kent's flexible work schedule so we can always have at least one of us at each kids' sporting events.  Kael threw discus and was really happy with his first throw!

He even got a shoutout on the Jag Instagram account for his PR!

While Kent and Kael were there, Kylee had volleyball and Kase had a friend stay over.  The next morning Kael had ACTs which he was thrilled to have over with then he went to work for a few hours.  Kylee and her boyfriend hung out, walked to Orange Leaf for some fro-yo and just spent the day here.  Kase pretty much ran around with friends all day and then he and Kent had an impromptu baseball practice in the afternoon.

That night, Kael had a big group of friends go to the Barnstormers game with him.  Kent and I had bid on a suite at a charity auction last fall with the hopes that something like this would work out and we were all happy it did.  Kael had a great group and everyone had a lot of fun.  Kent went with them and ordered pizza and snacks and cookies and said everyone was so thankful and happy to be there.  It was sort of a birthday get together for him...I don't know if 17 year olds really do "birthday parties" but it was a perfect reason to get a big group together.  They all came back to our house afterwards to play some football, ping pong and jump on the trampoline.  What a great night for Kael.

Kase ended up staying over at a friend's house that night and Kylee's boyfriend had left just before all of Kael's friends got back to our place so it worked out great they had basically the whole house to themselves.  Kylee helped me make a few snacks for them all and I appreciated her help. Again, very thankful for Kent and his willingness to carpool the guys down there and supervise!

Sunday we watched church online then spent the morning just getting stuff done around the house.  Kael went to practice throwing disc with a friend, later Kent and Kase had baseball practice.  Kylee had a lazy day then went to volleyball and Kael went to team lifting then to work.

Ready for a busy week around here with a couple track meets and such!
