Weekend Wrap-Up

What a weekend!

We went to Adventureland on Thursday and it was great! Not busy at all and the lines were not slow or anything.  We weren't sure what to expect with the social distancing guidelines but it was pretty smooth.  It was hot though so we didn't last all day, which was fine because Kylee came home and swam laps with her friends at Briarwood and Kael went tubing with his buddies.

Friday was National Donut Day! The kids and I rode bikes to Dunkin' and brought some home for breakfast on the deck.

Later that day Kylee and I  (finally) had pedicures! Then we headed to the Ledges with our friends. The kids had a blast catching minnows and splashing around.

Back in Ankeny they had fun in the backyard pool together.

That night we had dinner on the patio at our neighborhood Mexican restaurant then came home to play twilight ping pong in the driveway. Fun night.

Saturday was a full family day! It started off early with my sisters and their kids, plus Kylee and myself (Kase and Kael were still sleeping) going kayaking at Sandpiper.  It was so awesome for us to all roll up in our husbands trucks and unload our kayaks.  Later, Kase and my mom joined us too! We spent the whole morning kayaking and playing on the beach.

Everyone went home for lunch and to regroup, Kase and Kylee played at Mandy's house and Kent took Kael and his buddies tubing.  Later everyone ended up at our house to play water balloons on the trampoline and have a backyard grill out.

Then even later they all went to Mandy's house for a cousin sleepover! They stayed up late watching a movie but Kase ended up coming home with me- he said he just likes sleeping at his own house best. So thankful for a fun filled cousin day!

The next morning Kase was anxious to head back to Mandy's early to play for a little bit while she and I had time to chat about my family's upcoming South Dakota trip!

Came home and everyone relaxed for awhile then spent the rest of the morning just jumping on the trampoline and hanging out with friends. We went back and forth about how to spend the rest of our day and finally loaded up the kayaks to go to Hickory Grove- Kent remembered renting canoes there as a kid so we thought it would be worth checking out.  Fail! The lake was totally drained! No water at all- ha! We salvaged the day by driving to Starbucks in Nevada (not the coffee shop) for ice cream and also stopped to play at this park. Later we headed to Ada Hayden Lake in Ames to kayak for a bit before heading home.

Then we had a family golf night! We all just love these nights.

Twinning in their navy and white!

We came home, turned on the TV and called it a night! We were all tired after a busy, fun weekend!
