Friday morning Kase was up earlier than usual. Kael had already been to Winning Edge and was going to mow the lawn. Kylee wasn't home- so Kase and I loaded up and went for an adventure. He is occasionally a bit of a homebody and I have to really convince him to go anywhere away from the 'hood where he can play with his friends or stay home and watch Pokémon or Dragon Riders. But I promised him it would be fun.
We got to Big Creek and his eyes got so big- we hadn't been there for a long time so he didn't really remember it. "This park is so amazing, Mom!" It was so peaceful out there since we were there early and hardly anyone else was there.
He LOVED the tire swing and said, "This is the coolest place in the world!" Ahh the little things, right?
Then I fully blew his mind by telling him I had thrown in his swim trunks and he could hop in the water. He was so happy and he said, "You and me, me and you- we're the best together, Mom." Melt my heart. It just reminded me of all the little adventures he and I used to have while Kael and Kylee were in school before he went to kindergarten. It was a good morning.
The afternoon was toasty. So we had some friends over to play water guns in the backyard! Kael was at Cascade Falls for a well earned swimming afternoon- I was so proud of him mowing the yard and also helping me out with laundry and dishes that morning after weightlifting. He's just really growing up and I love to see him being responsible and helpful.
Later that night the kids had triathlon practice. I'm getting so excited for triathlon day!
The next day Kylee had plans with a friend so I took the boys to Adventureland. It was super hot so it wasn't very busy but I had the best time with my boys. We rode a few rides on the way out to the water park then spent the majority of our time there. Often they have friends along but that day they didn't and it was fun that they wanted me to hang with them! We did the wave pool and lazy river together and also I went down the mat slide with Kael. So fun.
Kael and I even got to ride the new Phoenix- there was no line! It was super fun!
It was so, SO hot. It's quite a haul from the water park to the parking lot so Kael offered to carry Kase on his back. What a good big brother.
Meanwhile, Kylee was at the lake with her friend! They had so much fun.
Saturday morning Kent and Kael started a project rearranging his room and putting up a new TV. Kase and I joined my parents at the Polk City parade! It was so hot but fun to see my sister and her family in the parade.
These two had a fun day together and also picked up Kylee from her friend's house and took her to Adventureland for another friend get together.
Kase and I tried to beat the heat at the pool with a buddy!
When we got home the neighbor invited the boys over to play on their water slide they had rented for a birthday party. The boys got in some water fun before the skies opened up and it poured!
Later that night Kael was at his buddy's birthday party. Teenage boys are so funny.
They had fun in his friend's hot tub.
And that left Kent and I home with just Kase! He really wanted to eat at Pizza Ranch so we drove there only to find out the storm had knocked out power. Instead we took him to the B and B arcade where he had the time of his life. He hit the jackpot twice on one of the games! We came home with SO many prizes- he was so happy.
Sunday we went to church then Kase went to see The Lion King with a friend. Kent and Kael and Kylee worked on rearranging TVs/furniture which was a fun project for them! Later Kael and Kylee went out on the neighbor's water slide.
Later that afternoon this foursome hit the golf course! They had a great time and Kase was happy at home because his friend got to come over and play.
We wrapped up our weekend with a pool party. There's something so fun about being at the pool after hours! It was a great night with friends.
Looking forward to more summer days ahead!
