Weekend Wrap-Up

Whew- lots to write about this go 'round.

Valentine's Day was fun.  The kids know they always get their annual photo books and I love that they look forward to it so much.

They also get a few other small gifts.

They spend all morning looking at the books.

And they have the sweetest gifts for Kent and me too! Kylee always makes handmade cards and presents and encourages her brothers to do the same.  Kael this year added some "coupons" (good for one "scoop the driveway" and "do the laundry" and things like that).  It was so sweet and thoughtful! And, of course, Kent always comes up with something perfect for me.

We are so lucky that we got to see both sets of grandparents on Valentine's Day and they also had fun gifts for the kids!

Kael had a game that night and it was the perfect way to spend Valetine's Day- together! We went out for dinner afterwards and had a great night.

The next day Kent had lunch with Kase at school.  Also that day we got an email from Kase's teacher saying he was "Secret Student of the Day" and she had been secretly watching him to see if he was being a responsible first grader and....he was! So he got to pick a few extra treats- one of which is having a special lunch with a friend tomorrow at school!

Saturday Kael volunteered with our youth group for Day of Love and spent the day serving the local community.  He looks forward to this day every year! Meanwhile, Kase hung out with my mom and also went to see my niece's game while Kent and I were at Kylee's volleyball tournament.  It was a tough tournament and Kylee hurt her knee and had to sit out for awhile, but in the end she was just fine and her team played some great volleyball!

Kase and Kent went to his basketball game and Kase played awesome! He was so excited to tell me about the long shot he made. They got back to Kylee's tournament in time for the final game.

That night Kael had a friend spend the night and the rest of us had a family movie night.  We woke up Sunday morning to lots of snow (again) so we had a cozy morning in just reading books and such.
(That's both Kylee and Kase and a few books there under those blankets.)

Then Kent and Kylee went out to make another amazing snow fort!

The rest of us joined later for some snow fort tag which has become the favorite game this winter.

We also headed to the green space behind our house for the most giant game of fox and geese ever!!

That night Kylee stayed over at a friend's house and they did some cute crafts.

And kinda creepy unicorn masks. Ha!

The boys played in the snow with neighbors.

The next morning the kids didn't have school.  Kent went into work for just a few hours.  Kase rediscovered his love of Legos!

Then we all hit the gym and Kent and the kids had so much fun doing family swim lap races.  We had a lazy afternoon, then played outside in the snow for awhile.  Later we did a little shopping and had an early night in! Love long weekends!
