Weekend Wrap-Up

Friday was my preschool program- one of my favorite preschool days of the year! The kids did so well and brought such sweet gifts.  It was a great day.  Well, it was a good day at preschool...meanwhile Kylee and Kael were home sick with a little stomach bug.  My mom stopped by to take care of them and I was so appreciative! They both bounced back fairly quickly and were fine by the next day but Kylee was bummed to miss a volleyball scrimmage.

Friday night was our annual Neighbor Christmas party- a night we look forward to every year! Our group keeps getting bigger and it's just a super fun night for all of us.  Love our framily.  (Friend Family)

Saturday morning our elf brought gingerbread houses to decorate! This year the kids put them together totally by themselves and I'm proud to say all their structures are still standing! This was a fun way to spend the morning and get everyone in the holiday spirit.

That afternoon, Kylee had volleyball ref training and Kent took the boys and each of a friend of theirs to the new movie theater in town.  They had the best time.  The screen was four stories high! They also had some fun playing the arcade games.

Saturday evening we went to Bass Pro, along with the rest of the greater DM metro, to visit Santa.  Kase wasn't even super excited about seeing Santa, and it turns out there was a 3 hour wait! So...we took a picture by their gorgeous Christmas tree and left.

We decided to go to Jolly Holiday Lights instead.  On our way home we also stopped by the house in Ankeny that a teenager did lights for and set to music.  The kids thought that was really neat.

Sunday, Kase was up super early.  We spent the morning before church playing card games.  After church we took the kids out for a walk/hike at Saylorville. It was so nice out!

Later, Kylee went to a friend's house and the boys played outside.  Kylee had volleyball practice in the evening.

I'm excited for this week- I have some time to myself to finish up all the gift wrapping and cookie baking while the kids are still in school.  And I'm starting to get REALLY excited for Christmas!
