Weekend Wrap-Up

I just realized I didn't get a Thankful Thursday post written this week so I have lots of photos and things to share since last week.

Last week was Ashland Ridge Spirit Night at the girls high school basketball game.  Kent took Kase and Kylee while I took Kael to watch hi school's talent show.  Kase was super bummed because his name didn't get drawn to shoot baskets at half time but tons of his friends did.  Also, Kylee came home from school that day saying that she got to shoot (for the fourth time!) so he was kind of bummed going to the game but ended up having fun with all his buddies.

Kylee and all her friends had fun too.  Tweenagers at their best.

Last week Kael got to say good-bye to his cast!

He was such a trooper through the whole thing but he is certainly glad to have his right hand back to fully functioning!

Thursday night Kent took Kase and Kael to the high school wrestling meet.  Meanwhile, Kylee and I had a girls spa night at home.  We had so much fun just chatting- I heard so many more details about friends and school than I do on a typical day.  It was great to spend some one on one time with her.

Friday night we decided to go to the Mayor's Tree Lighting in town.  Kylee was babysitting a neighbor but the rest of us went to my parents to have pizza with my sister and nieces and nephews. The event was really fun! Live music by the Nadas, free hot cocoa, lots of games.  It was chilly, but Kase found a lot of his friends and stayed warm by running all around with them.

The fireworks were really good!

And the tree was so pretty.

When we left, Kael headed to a Youth Group game night and the rest of us just game home.  Fun Friday night!

Saturday morning Kase asked Kent to tie his loose tooth to a string and the other end to a door and shut the door but at the last minute he decided he didn't want to go through with it.  However, the tooth came out when Kent tried to untie it! So funny!

Also, Kase was Main Event at his school this week! So proud of him.

Also on Saturday morning we found a little leak in our window in our family room and there was a small puddle on the floor. After the flood we had earlier this fall I was super stressed out about it but Kent came home and found the source of the problem and took care of it.  Lucky our new floor is totally waterproof!

Amidst the chaos, my mom came over to pick Kylee up to go shopping with Brooklyn.  It looks like they had a great time!

Twinning!

Melt my heart.

Later that afternoon we took the boys over to my parents' house too.  Kase had fun playing with Huston!

And baking bon bons with my dad!

Kent and I got some major Christmas shopping done and had a nice dinner out.  It was such a great afternoon and evening.

The kids got donuts from the new Krispy Kreme in town for breakfast.

And Kase helped with the dishes!

The boys fake napped.

Then I came over with all their snow stuff.  It was our first measurable snowfall of the year so we wanted to go take a walk out in my parents' backyard.

Kase was proud of his snowball.

And was happy to pose for the camera.

The snow was so pretty and made such a perfect backdrop.

We came back in and the kids drew and played cards for a little before we all headed home.

Kent took Kase to a birthday party and ran errands.  Kylee went to a friends' house to play and Kael and I finished up some of his Christmas shopping for his siblings.  Then we came home and played cards while watching football. Kael set up this perfect spot for us to play and he was so proud to show me that he has learned how to shuffle!

Later that night Kylee had volleyball practice and the rest of us just hung out at home.  It was a pretty great weekend!
