Weekend Wrap-Up

We've been keeping busy, busy around here.  Kylee went to a volleyball clinic to help show some drills to coaches.  She's really excited for the season to start! Meanwhile, Kent and I were at the Back to School night and Cindy was here hanging with the boys.

Friday we had the loveliest day.  I ran a few errands in the morning but it was pretty quiet around the house.  So Kent and I went out for lunch to somewhere we had never been. It was so nice going on a day date with him! After school was a flurry of activity. Kael called me before he even left school telling me he'd lost his tooth and also he was so excited to share that he had been Student of the Week! So proud of him. Also, he got his school pictures back and he looks so grown up in them.

Kase came home with this note- so proud of him too! He's been working hard to stay on his best behavior at school.

That night we went to the Jag/Hawk football game. We saw lots of friends there, and Kael had a great time sitting in the designated middle school section.  He and Kent lasted nearly the whole game.

Kylee, Kase and I had come home after the halftime show.  But we put our glow sticks on and listened to the rest of the game on our deck!

Saturday morning Kent and Kael had football practice.  Kase and Kylee spent the morning playing with friends then we watched the Hawkeye game. After halftime Kylee and I made sugar cookies.  She had the best time rolling out the cookies and decorating them!

We spent the afternoon organizing things in the house and moving furniture around.  It felt so good to get that done.  Later that night we ran a few errands and the kids had fun checking out all the Halloween stuff.

Sunday we had lunch at Kyle and Julia's house with Kent's side of the family.  It was so nice to see everyone. The kids had fun exploring in the back.  We also played tennis, KanJam, and tried to dodge the falling acorns in the front yard!

Sunday evening we had a sort of impromptu garage movie night with neighbors and friends.  It was a lovely end to the day.

Monday morning Huston came to play! Kase had been asking me for quite some time if Huston could come and bring his Rampage Nerf fun.  The boys had fun building forts together.

Then we went to my parents' and had lunch with them and saw all their pictures from their trip.  So good to hang out with them.  Mandy and her kids stopped by too, so it was great to see them!  We spent Sunday afternoon just getting things done- mowing, getting groceries, etc.  Kase played at a friend's house for awhile. Kael played some backyard football with friends and Kylee played with friends too.  It was a great long weekend! Looking forward to a shortened week and also my first day of preschool tomorrow!
