Weekend Wrap-Up

After a busy week, we were ready for a weekend.  Friday night we went to Despicable Me 3.  The kids loved it, and Kent and I thought it was hilarious, too.

Saturday morning the kids had triathlon practice and Kent and I got stuff done around the house. Later we made a quick stop at the pool then headed to Homemakers to look for new bedroom furniture for Kylee.  Her old bedroom furniture wasn't ruined, but we decided this is a good time for her to upgrade.  We found exactly what she was hoping for, then we decided to look for living room furniture too.  We play to give our current living room furniture to Keith and Cindy for their basement.  We were there for awhile, but finally settled on something we all liked.  The kids got cookies and had a great time riding the escalators, so it was a fun afternoon.  Later that evening we hung out with neighbor friends and enjoyed catching up.

Sunday morning Kent went on a bike ride with the neighborhood guys.  When we got home we played a family game of baseball before heading to church.  It was Berkley's baptism day! The kids all sat so nicely in church and during the baptism, too.

We headed back to my sisters' house for lunch and also to celebrate Huston's birthday! It was a really fun afternoon.  Kael just loves holding Berkley!

After the party we went to Collins.  Kent helped his dad put a TV mount in their basement.  We were glad to see Cindy since she'd had surgery on her wrist last week.  We also visited Kent's grandparents- it was so good to see everyone.

Back in Ankeny, we went to my parents' house- Kylee has been dying to try to catch minnows since she saw some in their creek the other day.  We didn't catch any but I'm just sure she will next time.

Then we headed out for a boat ride.  Kent skiied and the kids swam.  It was a great night out on the water- I can't believe how little we've been able to make it out this year! Hopefully we can spend lots of time boating in July!

We had a quick, late dinner and everyone was tired when we got home. We have a busy week ahead, of course with the holiday and also just with contractors and stuff around the house- then later this week is the beginning of Summerfest! Looking forward to a great week ahead.
