Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful for creek splashing with the cousins.  They didn't catch a lot (any) minnows, but they had the best time in the water!

I'm thankful for these cute cousins. I'm also thankful for lunch at my dad and mom's on the Fourth of July.  We had all the best summer foods- grilled burgers, sweet corn, watermelon, and Kylee's favorite brownies for dessert.  There's nothing better than time spent with family on holidays.

I'm thankful for these firecrackers.

I'm thankful for a perfect pool day.  It was so hot out and the kids had fun cooling off with their friends!

I'm thankful for how patriotic these two are.  Kent and our dear neighbor friend beat Kael and his friend at KanJam three times in a row! We had a fun impromptu gathering here at our place on the evening of the Fourth and we played lots of KanJam. Kael is so anxious to take on Kent and Megan again at our annual neighborhood block party this weekend.

I'm thankful that we fit in sparklers before bedtime.  After our little party at our house, we landed at another neighbor's house who was shooting off fireworks.  We had fun watching while eating Fireworks Oreos.  The kids thought that was the best. Have you tried them?!

I'm thankful for this awesome town we live in.  All City Play Day was last night and we went up for long enough for the kids to all dunk someone in the dunk tank! On our way home (ok, it was actually not on the way at all) we stopped by a new splash pad in town to cool off!

I'm thankful that Kent was able to stay home yesterday morning while we had several people come work on the house. Inevitably there are questions that I don't know the answer to and I appreciate not having to call and interrupt him at work.  It's just so much easier when he's here!  I'm also thankful that we're plugging right along with the house.  Seems like something is happening each day!

I'm thankful for five year olds.  The other day, our neighbor rang our doorbell and she asked if Kase could play.  While she stepped in to wait for him to get ready, Kase said, "Hey, you know you're my favorite friend, right?" She smiled sweetly and said, "Yeah, Kase, I know."

I'm thankful Cindy's on the mend after her wrist surgery last week!

Feeling very thankful today.  How about you?
