Weekend Wrap-up

It's been a busy week/weekend.  I'm kind of glad it's Monday as I'm happy to get back to somewhat of a normal routine!

We had such a fun end to our week last week.  We *had* to stay overnight at a hotel since our house was getting sprayed with a sealant that didn't smell too great.  The kids loved that.  We also spent a full day at Adventureland, including lots of time at Adventure Bay since it was so hot.  Then, later that night, Kylee learned to water ski! She was so happy and I was so proud of her for not giving up after a couple tries. She figured it out pretty well by the third try and just kept getting better after that!

I skiied too!

Progress has been made in Kylee's room- her carpet has been ripped up and now her ceiling is all closed back in.  We're getting closer and closer each day to having things back to normal!

Thursday was the beginning of Summerfest and Friday night, Kase decided to be in the Kiddie Parade.  This year's theme was Heroes Unite and Kase loved dressing up as Batman and riding his scooter in the parade! He was one of the last ones to take off but was the first one to finish! Ha!

That's his head peeking over the banner!

That night, Kent and Kase had a dinner date while Kylee and I had plans with neighbor friends and moms.  Kael went to the Teen Splash Dance and had a great time.  There's nothing better than getting to swim at the pool after hours!

Saturday morning was the Grand Parade.  My parents always get us the best spot to watch the parade and we love having family join us each year.  It was such a nice morning.

Plus, just look at all that candy!!!

That afternoon, Kent and some other financial advisors in town served watermelon during the annual boat regatta.  The kids and I went up with some neighbor friends to watch the regatta and family joined us too. We had a great time as always and were thankful Kent had been able to set up a canopy for us- it was hot out! The watermelon was so refreshing too!

Later that night we went out to celebrate a friend's 40th birthday and had a great time at the Escape Chambers- we got out! We ended up back at Summerfest with some friends and the kids had a great time sleeping over at Keith and Cindy's.

Sunday was our fourth annual neighborhood Smokefest.  The kids just love, love, LOVE this event! Several of the neighborhood dads have smokers, so they do all the meat; we block off the street and just have a great time.  This year the kids really loved playing in the water too- it was really hot out.

The night always ends with our town's fireworks that we're able to see from where we block our road off.  I was happy  my sister and Huston joined us! It was a late night but a really good night.  Everyone is already looking forward to next year!
