Weekend Wrap-Up

Friday after school we spent lots of time shooting hoops.  We have used it so much already! Then, Keith and Cindy graciously offered to have the kids for a sleepover on Friday night.  Kent and I capitalized on the opportunity to get some things done in the basement.  Now that we had carpet, we completely overhauled the storage areas, dusted off future wall hangings, put out some toys that had been tucked away for months and even made a fairly sizable Goodwill pile.  It felt so good to get that all done!

Saturday morning we joined the kids in Collins and had breakfast then the kids did their Easter egg hunt there.  They had so much fun! It was a beautiful  morning for it.  We squeezed in a little time at the park before heading home to wait for the couch to be delivered.

The couch came and although we had measured a million times to make sure it would fit in the basement, we discovered that one piece of the sectional wouldn't actually fit down the stairs.  So that was a bummer.  We were determined to make it work so in the process we chipped some paint on the walls that I later retouched in the wrong color (like a shade off). So that was frustrating.  We weighed our options and tentatively plan to reorder the exact same piece, except it will come in two pieces.  Hard to explain, but it will look the exact same-same layout and everything but to special order it that way it will be at least a month until we get it delivered! Oh well.  Some neighbors stopped by Saturday night and we got to put our basement to use for entertaining for the first time and it.was.AWESOME! I am so thankful for the extra space in the house and I know it's not all the way totally perfectly done yet (still need granite, blinds, and the couch) but truly it is amazing having another whole level to our house!

Sunday morning my Kylee girl woke me up early, anxious to see if the Easter bunny had been here.  She patiently waited for her brothers to wake up and in the meantime we painted her nails and curled her hair.  When they woke up we headed to the basement to hunt for eggs.  It was a great morning.  We had our traditional breakfast of egg casserole and cinnamon rolls then got ready for church. As I looked down the row at church, seeing my family all sitting there together my heart was so happy.

Had a fun mini photo session.

We headed to my parents' house for lunch, egg hunt and our yearly egg cracking contest where my mom was the champion!  What a wonderful day and so very much to be thankful for.  My grandma was able to join us for the day as well.

Kylee decorated this Easter bunny cake at Grandma's house.

The fellas.

The whole gang.

At some point during the day I tried to take a picture of Kent and myself and Kael hopped in too.  Love this photo bomb.

We spent the rest of Sunday getting things back in order- laundry, groceries, more debating of the couch situation.  We also clocked lots of outdoor neighbor time which is just good for the soul.

How was your Easter weekend?
