Thankful Thursday

I'm so thankful for the loveliest day yesterday with Kylee and Grandma Cindy! We celebrated Kylee's birthday and had a girls spa day and patio lunch at Hidalgo. It was so nice spending time together and a total treat!

I'm thankful the guys have had a good time on their fishing trip and I'm also thankful they are heading home today!

Happy Thursday!

Weekend Wrap-Up

We celebrated Kylee at her track banquet last week- so many accolades! First Team All Conference, Academic Award and another Varsity Letter.  Yay Kylee!

Hoooooray summer is here! Kase had fun with his buddies on the last day of school just playing wiffle ball and biking to ice cream.

The boys took off for Canada on Saturday! Kael caught the first fish!

Kylee and I made our own fun here.  We went to my nephew's baseball games, went out for lunch, ran, walked then she hung out with her boyfriend. She also had a friend's grad party, tanned with a friend and went to a bonfire.

Monday we both ran, she went to the gym then went to a pool party at Garrett's. I did a few things around the house, went to a movie and for a long walk.

The guys sent a couple more pictures and it seems like they are having a great time!

Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful Kael got to take his girlfriend to the pond and Clear Lake on Monday! They both had the day off and my parents were available too so they all had the best day.  Kael was so proud to show Emma some of our favorite family places to go!

Kael showed Emma how to fish!

They even got to get out on the water for a little bit.

And they visited the Surf Ballroom- cool!

Love seeing Kael so happy.

I'm thankful for yet another accolade for Kylee.  She was inducted to the National Honor Society on Tuesday night- so proud of her!

Kylee and a friend from elementary school who also ran at State Track.

The lighting isn't great but here they are showing off their State Track sunburns!

Kylee and Emma having fun.

Thankful the boys are headed off for their Canada trip- I'm not sure who is most excited!

I'm thankful school is almost done- hooray!!!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Wow what a week/weekend it has been! First off it has just been so great having Kael home.  I'm really enjoying my time with him before the other two are out of school! Quality time for sure.

Kylee had a team meal on Wednesday night.  I am just so proud of these distance girls and thankful for them as teammates for Kylee.  Great group.

Kylee spent all day Thursday at State Track!

She hadn't been feeling 100%, it was hot, State is a very high pressure situation so I will admit to being nervous for her.  I knew she was ready, she was capable and I totally believed in her but for her sake I just hoped the race would go well.  AND IT DID!!!

These girls CRUSHED the school record by 8 seconds.  They hoped to place between 7th-10th and they got SIXTH! You guys.  I was just so, so happy for Kylee and her team I could cry.  I did cry, actually.

So much hard work put in and to have the outcome be that great- just amazing!

Coach and alternates.

My Iowa Girl!!!!

Proud parents.

The south Ankeny high school placed as well and I love whoever thought of getting a picture of them together!

Happiness.

Then her sweet boyfriend surprised her with flowers just minutes after she got home (and it was late!)

He's the best.

Whew.  After coming down off that excitement, Kylee headed back to State all day Friday and Saturday to cheer on her team! It was an excellent meet for the Jags!

Friday night Kase and a buddy and his dad and Kent went to the Hawkeye game.  They had great seats and just had the best time.

Signature by Brody Brecht!

Saturday Kase had baseball games.  Kael came to cheer him on for one of the games then went to work.  We went 1-1 on the day then I went to a comedian with my sisters! Love spending time with these two and the guy was hilarious!

Saturday night Kylee had a sleepover with friends.  Sunday Kael and I went to church- Kent and Kase slept in then had baseball.  It was a wild day but in the end, we went 2-0 and Kase pitched the entire (silver bracket) championship game and just did so, so well.  Love how these guys never gave up.

Kylee had a grad party to go to, Kael went to the guitar store and did a couple other errands and then we just had a nice night at home.  We were all exhausted! Kase played with friends.  We grilled steaks and went for a walk with the bigs.  It was great!

Thankful Thursday

I'm so thankful Kent and Kael had fun at the concert they went to on Tuesday. It was a birthday gift for Kael and they just had the best time.

I'm thankful tonight Kylee gets to run at the State Track Meet! It's been such an amazing sophomore season for her.

I'm thankful that school is almost over for the summer! Have a great weekend.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Friday night we celebrated Cindy for her birthday/Mother's Day and her and Keith's 45th anniversary.  Such a great night with the fam. We had a fun time at Backpocket!

Meanwhile Kase had been invited to a last minute birthday party so we let him go have fun with his friends. Kylee and Garrett had stopped by for a bit with us then went on to the mall and meanwhile, Kael was at the Conference track meet in Lincoln! He had a great weekend throwing both hammer and discus and even PR'd! I'm SO, so proud of that buddy and so very happy for him.

Saturday and Sunday Kase had baseball.  He pitched well and it was an absolutely beautiful weekend for baseball.  The team went 3-2 and fell just short of being champions.

Kylee had a busy weekend with grad parties and a late night babysitting and also fitting in a swim workout so imagine my surprise to wake up Sunday morning to see she had left me the nicest Mother's Day note! She's so thoughtful and it was a great start to my day. She spent the day at grad parties then with Garrett at his pool. Kent, Kase and I left town early for baseball. Kael packed himself up and headed home! What a successful first year for him at college.  It was so great getting home from baseball to see him and he had unpacked all of his things- so responsible! I'm really excited to have him home for the summer.

We had our annual Mother's Day dinner out on Sunday evening.  This is such a special tradition and I'm thankful each year that we can make it work! So proud to call these lovey ladies Mom/sister/daughter/niece!

My girl.

The girls with Grandpa Terry.

Biaggi's!

Cute cousins.

We had such a nice, leisurely dinner!

Meanwhile, the boys went out for dinner and sounds like they had a great time together too.

Brothers! I think Kase will be happy to have Kael home for the summer too.

Right before I had left for dinner Kent surprised me with a very thoughtful gift and was thrilled we had even five minutes with all of us together on Mother's Day so he could tell me about it with everyone present.  Man I just love my family so much!
