Thursday night Kase had a couple 7-7 games. The first one went GREAT and we looked amazing!
The second one, less so. But Kase got some encouraging words from his coach (and one of his biggest fans). Kyle has always thought highly of Kase and always seems to know what to say to him.
The XC team has been getting a lot of miles in this week! Kylee is hanging in there despite having a cold that won't go away. Excited for the season!
Friday morning Kase had a camp at school. I really just signed him up because all his friends were going and I knew if he didn't go he wouldn't have anyone to play with around the 'hood so he may as well go. He enjoyed himself about as much as he looks like he is in this picture.
.
I took him and his friend straight to Adventureland after to meet up with another friend. They had the best day! Kase tried lots of new (to him) rides and they stayed until close. Brought back memories of when I used to stay all day and into the night with my cousins and family!
That night Kael was at work so Kent and I took Kylee to the fair to meet up with her friends for a concert.
Cuties.
Meanwhile Kent and I walked around the fair and had a great time! Got to see The Nadas perform which was awesome!
Kylee's friend's mom sent me a few more px of the girls. It was really a fun night!
Photo recreation from their first Fair concert together. These two have been to four concerts together there I think? First one was the summer after second grade (above) and this year is pictured below.
Saturday morning Kylee had a long run then I went up for the XC parent meeting and team breakfast. The boys were getting things done around home then we all headed to the lake (plus Kael's college roommate, Kylee's boyfriend and one of Kase's friends).
Beautiful day and tons of fun!
Kase has been trying to catch the huge fish by the restaurant for a couple years now and he finally got one today! He was SO excited. A couple watching him told me later they thought it probably weighed 25 pounds!
We dropped Kylee and her boyfriend and Kael and his roommate off then these two wanted to go back out for a bit.
Kael went to Norwalk to hang out with some friends and Kylee went with a group of friends to dinner at the Barbie movie! They got her some fun (pink) gifts and had a great time.
Sunday after church we got some things done around the house- the ping pong table and trampoline net were in rough shape as a result of a very fun summer with a house often full of 11 and 12 year old boys (they are HARD on things, guys!) so Kent spent some time fixing those things. I'm so thankful to be married to such a handy guy! Kase went fishing in Iowa City with a friend, Kael practiced throwing his new college weight discus then later we headed to Keith and Cindy's for the August birthday celebration!
August birthday buddies above, redhead club below.
Bo loved having Kylee read to her.
It was such a great night and it made me so happy we try to always squeeze these little celebrations in with both sides of the family. My kids always look forward to family time and we realize with how busy everyone is we may likely only get a few hours together a month and that's what makes it special.
After that, Kael headed to a concert with a friend and Kylee, Kent, Garrett and I went golfing. Kael and his friend Owen had a great time!
Kylee was excited to be able to legally drive the golf cart!
It was a picture perfect night.
And we all golfed pretty well!
Kase got back in town and got dropped off right on the course with us. He golfed a few holes then was able to fish since he'd had all his fishing stuff with him when he got dropped off.
Another bucket filling weekend around here. There's nothing better than time with my people. Trying to squeeze in all the time together that we can since Kael heads off to college in less than a week!
