Weekend Wrap-Up

Friday evening Kent and Kase finally got home! So happy to have my whole crew back under one roof! I spent the evening helping them get unpacked.  Kylee had a bible study group with some friends out at Saylorville.

Saturday morning Kylee organized a long run with the freshman cross country girls.  So proud of her for being a leader! I met them after their 8 mile run with Gatorades and bomb pops.  Kent and I spent most of the morning just getting things back in order after him being gone for so long.  Loads (ha) of laundry, talking through our schedules for the upcoming weeks and things like that.

As we talked through our schedule we realized how little time we are all going to be available in the next few weeks and realized that at that moment, all five of us were home and available so we decided to celebrate Kylee's birthday! Ha! I don't think in the entire history of our family we have ever let any of the kids open their gifts on a day besides their actual birthday! She loved all her gifts (mostly clothes, swimsuits and tennis shoes) and then we went out for lunch at Cancun!

Kylee then had a sleepover with a couple friends and spent the late afternoon swimming in her pool.  Kael went to work.  Finally by about 6:00 Kent and I had things mostly back in order around home so we went over to our friends house for a little bit.  Kase and his friend Asher came too.  The kids and Kent and Mark had fun fishing and caught quite a few!

All vacation long in the Ozarks, Kase conveniently had someone else put the worm on his hook or take the fish off his pole for him.  We hadn't been at our friend's house for more than a few minutes when Kase's friend Kendall caught a fish but didn't want to take it off the hook.  Kase immediately said, "I'll do it for you" and I laughed so hard because of course he would do it for Kendall! Even though he didn't do it on his own all vacation last week for himself!

Wanted to post a few more baseball pictures- I had fun messaging with one of Kase's teammates' moms who shared many of these with me- I so appreciated having someone take pictures since I wasn't there!

Sunday morning Kase slept in (he really, really needed to after a couple of big weeks) and Kael had to work so we watched church online then later Kase fished with a couple of his very best buddies.

Once Kylee was home from her sleepover and Kael was home from work, we went to my mom and dad's to celebrate Kylee's birthday with them! My parents had done a ton of work the day before at a big family picnic so it was really great of them to host this and make it extra special for Kylee! And so awesome that all the cousins and family could make it too.  We're so lucky.

Later Kylee went to a friend's house for a couple hours, Kase had a couple basketball scrimmages then played outside with his friends, Kael went to the gym.  Then Kase had VBS and Kylee volunteered there then she had volleyball practice.

We're jumping into a busy week around here- lots of practices and things going on but it will sure feel great to have all my people back home together again!
