Weekend Wrap-Up

 What a WEEKEND, you guys!

Kent and Kael took off for Vegas on Thursday afternoon.  I'm so happy these two have each other and can do fun things like go to awesome concerts together.

Kent reports that Kael is the easiest travel partner- so agreeable and responsible.

Meanwhile, back home we were getting much more snow than expected! Kase rose to the challenge of being Man of the House and helped me scoop late Thursday night.  We did it in record time!

So he rewarded himself with some ice cream.

Kent and Kael had the BEST time in Las Vegas and fit tons of fun stuff in besides the Metallica concert.

Fremont Street zipline!

FlyOver experience!

Bellagio fountains!

They had great seats for the concert and access to the lounge so that was great! Kael told me later, "I feel like Metallica did the exact set we would have wanted- they played all our favorites!" So, so cool that they got to go to this concert together!!!

Got some Metallica merch.

Back home, Kylee had a fun night hanging out with friends and I took Kase and a friend to the Jag boys basketball playoff game.  The next morning I got them a super healthy breakfast of Krispy Kreme and Starbucks.

I also saw over the weekend that Kylee was the second place in her grade for Flying 10s!

Saturday night Kent and Kael got home and we had a fun family night making homemade pizza and playing games.

Sunday Kase and Kylee both had tournaments.  Kase's team went 3-0 and won the whole thing! Such a fun way to end the season.

Kylee's team went 4-4 which is deceiving because three of the sets they lost were 26-24, 25-23, 25-23 and they ended up second place with the 15s Plex team winning it all.

Kase's team won t-shirts for their championship!

Love that the grandparents came to watch! Kael even got to see a game too!

Speaking of Kael, check this Instagram post out! So proud of that buddy!!

It was a really fun few days for my whole crew.  Love weekends like these!

Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful that Kent and Kael are on their way to Vegas for the Metallica concert! I couldn't be more excited for them and I can't wait to hear all about it.  Love that these two have such a fun bond over music like this.

I'm thankful that Kase tried a Twinkie- ha! We were watching Dude Perfect the other night and something came up about Twinkies and Kase said he hadn't ever had one before so I promised to buy him one to try.  Just as he was unwrapping it after school, Huston walked in and Kase happily shared the other Twinkie in the package with his cousin, who had also never had a Twinkie, apparently.  They both ate it but neither seemed like they would ever need to eat one again.

That's all for today! Happy Thursday!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Sunday's weather was awesome! It felt like spring!! Kase spent as much of the day playing outside as he could and here's how we spent the rest of the weekend.

Friday night we had dinner out as a family.  All 5 of us and no extra friends along which almost never happens.  It was a great night chatting about upcoming vacations and getting the kids input! Then Kael and Kylee each stayed over at a friend's house.

Kase had a tournament early Saturday morning.  The boys went 2-1 on the day and had a rough second game but it was fun to see them play again since they've had a couple weekends off. Meanwhile, Kael was at work and Kylee and her boyfriend were hanging out.

After the tournament Kase had a friend come home with us then later went to his house for pizza.  Love when Kase gets the chance to extend his friend group beyond just Ashland Ridge kids!

That night we ordered pizza, watched the wrestling finals and taught Kael to play Blackjack.  Fun night.

Sunday after church it wasn't long before our backyard was filled with boys playing football.  Kael worked then had a concert.  It was short but sweet and I'm always happy to see Kael dressed up and performing!

Kylee and her friends had gone for ice cream in The District, I went for a long walk while Kent and Kase were at baseball practice and camp then Kael and I played darts.  When Kent and Kase finished baseball, Kael and I met them at Orange Leaf for our first frozen yogurt of the season! SUCH a gorgeous day out!

That night Kylee had volleyball and the boys watched more wrestling and played more darts.  It was a great weekend!

Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful for a fun Valentine's Date night! It was super fancy. Definitely an experience! And thankful that Kael took Kase to the basketball game while we were out and also got him dinner.  I love when those two get to hang out together.

I'm thankful the kids still love their photo books I give them along with a couple other fun surprises for Valentine's Day. I didn't have time to get a picture of them all together in their red shirts like I do every year but I haven't forgotten and I will do it this weekend!

Kylee was thankful for these gorgeous flowers from her boyfriend.

And I was thankful we all (including Kylee's boyfriend) went go kart racing together on Valentine's Day since the kids didn't have school. I had never actually been there and it was really fun!

I'm thankful for a bunch of doctors appointments over with for the kids.  Kase has a new ENT with some new ideas to help his stuffy nose and Kylee has been to a physical therapist for her knee.  Just want to get all my people feeling 100%!

I'm thankful for these cute twinners. Kase and a buddy from his class decided to dress alike the other day and I loved it.  Kase was like, "Mom! You probably can't even tell which one is me!" Ha!

Happy Thursday, all!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Another winter weekend in the books.  We kept ourselves busy!

Friday night Kael and Kylee went to the Jags basketball games and Kase had a sleepover at his best buddy's house.  Kent went to an indoor golf place with some Crew dads and had a blast.

Saturday Kael went to work and Kylee had Junkyard Day of Love- one of her favorite youth group events of the year! She had a great time serving with her friends.  Kase went to Chuck E. Cheese with a friend so that left Kent and I with a few hours with no kids around on a Saturday afternoon which never happens! We did a little furniture shopping for his office remodel.

That night we went to the Eric Church concert! A friend of mine had tickets she wasn't using and offered them to us so we went for it! Kase was able to hang out with his cousin Tyson and had a great time doing that.  Meanwhile, we had fun running into Tammy, Rob, Mandy and Brooklyn at the concert!!

It was a good concert and fun experience even though Eric was over an hour late taking the stage which was too bad because we didn't plan to stay super late since Kylee had a tournament the next day.

Kylee and I were up early and headed to Iowa City.  The girls had a good day, not our best day, but fun nonetheless and got a few wins. Meanwhile, Kael was at work and enjoyed a visit from my parents and Kent and Kase had a baseball filled afternoon with camp and practice.

Kael went to a Super Bowl party with friends and Kylee and I got home in plenty of time to see the halftime show and watch the rest of the game with Kent and Kase.

There's no school tomorrow for the kids so I'm looking forward to having a day to catch up from our fun and busy weekend!
