Weekend Wrap-Up

We had a big weekend around here! I'll tell you all about it.

It started off Thursday night with Kase getting to go with Grandpa Keith and Grandma Cindy to the Iowa vs. Indiana basketball game!

The Hawkeyes got the win and Kase had a great time!

The next morning they grabbed breakfast and scooted home before the big storm hit. As soon as I said hi and bye to him, Kylee and I took off for Kansas City!

The snow did hit and the boys had fun sledding behind Kent's truck!

Kylee and I made it to KC without driving through any snow.  We got all checked in and grabbed a quick lunch nearby then went shopping in the Plaza.  Later that night we had dinner in the Power and Light District with a few of the moms and girls.

We woke up early the next morning to snow and slushy, not plowed streets.  We had time to make a quick stop at Starbucks the were happy to get safely to the Convention Center.  It was a really cool place to play!

Love this group of girls- Kylee totally hit it off with them.

I got lots of video but not as many pictures- but we went undefeated that day!

Meanwhile back home once the boys dug themselves out of nearly a foot of snow (!!!) they did some more sledding! Kase's friend had spent the night so he joined too.  Kael really enjoyed the sledding behind Kent's truck.  Later he went to work and actually the parking lot wasn't cleared very well so he got stuck- lucky Kent was able to dig him out! A good learning lesson for Kael and it all worked out ok.  And I'm sure he wasn't the only one that day!

When he got home from work- his letter jacket had come in! I think he looks so awesome in it and he loves it!

Back in KC Kylee and crew went axe throwing.

Kylee was the only one who had done it before and she did really well! They all had a blast and were pretty competitive about it!

We had a chilly walk to dinner at a fun pizza place after that.

Back at it the next morning!

The boys followed along with the games at home.

We had another great day! Went 2-1 which qualified us for the gold bracket.

Back at home some serious snow fort making was going on.

And we had some visitors at the volleyball game! So fun that Mandy and Brookly could stop by and see Kylee before their family went to the Chiefs game.

We had dinner out with the group.   Sweet girls.

We won our first game today and Kylee was just on fire.  She was so happy and energetic and confident.  Love to see it.

We lost our next one to the team that ended up going on to be champions.  Super fun weekend with a great group of girls and families.

These boys at home killed it- spending the morning cleaning the house and when Kylee and I walked in the door I couldn't believe how much they had done.  So nice to be gone for the weekend knowing I will come home to a spotless house!

We unpacked and ordered dinner in and had a nice night together.  So good to be home!
