Weekend Wrap-Up

Another fun fall weekend around here.

Kent and Kael got Hy-Vee Chinese for his birthday dinner the other night because the rest of us were all busy.  Happy they have each other!

Thursday Kylee had her first 8th grade volleyball game! I'm so proud of her making the A team.  They won and she played great.

6 of the 10 girls on A team were on her 4th grade club team!

Friday Kael had a home football game and he was hoping it would be the one where Coach Jerry Pezetti would break the record for most wins.

Kase and Kylee were decked out in America gear for the theme night (as well as Jag and Hawkeye gear for Kase.)

The rest of us went to Keith and Cindy's before the game to celebrate Kent's birthday with his family.  We had pizza and got to hang out for awhile- always good to see everyone.  Plus, we found out that Julia is expecting! So excited for them.

Then we headed to the game and Kael got to play! I was SO proud of him and happy for him.

How cool for Kael to get to be a part of the game that broke the record!! I am just so happy for Kael.  Kase was excited to cheer too!

Saturday we spent the day getting ready for a big Iowa/ISU tailgate at our house.  A bunch of Kase's buddies and families stopped by and Kylee had a friend come over too.  Kent smoked a brisket, we played lots of backyard football and tailgate games and had a great time.  Plus, Hawkeyes won!

Sunday Kase got accidentally poked in the eye at church- poor buddy! Kylee had Driver's Ed and later in the day Kael had lifting.  Kase had his first flag football game of the season.  First play, he was QB and threw to his friend Jett for a touchdown!

The boys played great and won.

Kase's eye was really bothering him so he took a few breaks and wore his sunglasses while he was on the sideline.  One of his teammates mom's is an eye doctor so she took a look at it and recommended some drops.  I hope he feels better soon! We told him he could take the night off from basketball skills camp.

Later that night Kent and I golfed with our dear friends and grabbed a quick dinner with them after. Kent and Jess are *almost* birthday twins so we try to go out every year together which is tricky with both of our families having crazy busy fall schedules. We actually all played pretty well!

Have a great week!
