Weekend Wrap-Up

I have to apologize for my last post as it was kind of crabby.  Things have sure turned around since then! Here's how we spent our lovely long weekend.

Last week Kent and I had a lunch and golf date.  We both played terribly but it was a beautiful day and we had a great time.

Friday afternoon Kent got to golf with some buddies he's been wanting to get together for a long time so that was great.  Then, it was the much anticipated Ankeny Centennial vs. Ankeny Hawks football game! We met up with a bunch of Kase's buddies there and Kylee took a friend along too.

It was a really exciting game and Jags, who were definitely the underdogs, WON!!!

Kase and his friends even got to high five Kael and his team as they ran off the field. Kael looked so proud and happy.

Kael even got a Rivalry Series hat and I'm so glad he got this picture with the trophy.  I love, love LOVE this photo of him.  What a great kid and a great night!

Kylee was up early Saturday morning for a long run with the high school cross country girls.  So proud of her putting the time in.  She found out that she is on the A teams for both volleyball and cross country! I'm so, so happy for her.

Kael had work, Kent and I spent the morning getting a few things done around the house and Kase played with friends.  Later we harvested the apples from our tree- our best year yet! I think we had maybe 75 apples!

Then we set up a TV in the backyard, our tailgate tent and tailgating games.  We had the best time just hanging around all of us 5 together. One of Kase's buddies stopped by for a little while too.

KanJam champs!

Hawkeyes win! And our principal's son, Riley Moss, had an awesome game- Kase was so excited because he got to meet him a year or so ago and has a signed jersey from him!

The family fun continued- we grilled steaks, made s'mores and Kael played guitar by the fire for us.

The best night with my favorite people.

Sunday morning we decided to head to the A frame.  Kael and Kylee stayed home because Kylee had Driver's Ed and Kael had team lifting and game walk through.  We brought one of Kase's friends with us.  It was a beautiful day- I always take so may photos while we are there! My sister and her family and parents were there too.  So fun.

Kase's friend had a very lucky day fishing!

Superman!

Kase taught Grandpa his "swerveball" pitch which is something he made up that is a cross between a screwball and a curveball.

Happy early birthday, Tyson!

We got home and Kylee was hanging out with a friend.  We unpacked, cleaned up and then celebrated Kent for his early birthday too! We went to Fiesta Jalapenos for dinner then came back home for pumpkin bars.

Kent loved his new shirt!

Monday morning we went out to the lake.  Kael drove the boat and pulled Kent skiing! Kylee also skied for the first time in awhile and the boys tubed.  It was a beautiful morning out on the water.

Later Kylee and I made a quick trip to the mall to find a dress for her to wear on home game days and we made it back to town just in time for Kase's football scrimmage.  They did great!

Then we all headed to Kael's JV game! With a few friends along too.

Kael played GREAT! Even got a tackle.  So fun watching him out there.

Jags win! The perfect ending to a wonderful weekend!
