Weekend Wrap-Up

Fall weekends are so, so good, right?!

Football season is back and in FULL swing at the Patterson house. Kael and his buddy got to be down on the field during the 9th grad game on Thursday and Kylee was there watching too.  So great for all the kids to be able to go to all the events this year!

Meanwhile, Kase and company have started their flag football season.

These boys.  Love 'em.

Kael (kind of hidden in the red shirt in the middle) had an early morning lifting session Friday.  That kid works so hard and always shows up.  I'm so proud of him.

Game Day! #98 looking ripped!

Kase and buddies were hanging out after school on Friday and he wanted to go to Kael's game but also wanted to hang with his friends.  So, we just brought all the friends along with us to the game in Indianola! It was a Beach Out theme.  How cute are these guys?! Kent calls them the "Power Four" and Kase calls themselves the "Golden Squad".

We picked up Ben's Burgers on the way to the game, put on a movie, and got to Indianola for the game! These boys played football most of the time.

But did watch some of the game.

They were SO proud to get to give Kael a high five on his way back out after halftime!

We lasted until the end of the third quarter which was pretty good after a full first week of school. Jags ended up losing by quite a bit.  Could be a long season but hey- maybe Kael will get some playing time! I also ran into one of Kylee's volleyball friend's parents so that was great.  And my parents were at the game so we had a good time catching up with them!

Saturday morning my dad was conductor of the Uptown Farmer's Market train!

So cool! Kase and cousins took a ride!

Later we took Kylee and her friend Mylee (they'd had a sleepover the night before) out to the lake with Kase.  We had a great time! It wasn't too busy and we used one of the marina tubes which was super easy.

Kase got pretty confident out there by himself. That smile.  Love it.

When we got home, I got Kael's football picture in the mail- SO grown up! Love that buddy.

Saturday morning Kael was up super early.  He actually slept through his alarm- so tired from a late night! But his friend was picking him up to head to Okoboji so he hopped out of bed and got all packed up.  I later got this picture so I know his early morning was worth it! He has a great time tubing with his friends. They also got to go go karting!

Then, we got a text from Kase's best buddy asking if he could also go to the lake with them this weekend.  He jumped at the opportunity and packed his bag and headed off for Lake Delhi! He is kind of a homebody so I was proud of him for wanting to go.  He called us Saturday night and was so sweet. "I love you, Mom and tell Dad I love him so much too."

So that left us with Kylee as the only kid home Saturday and she asked if she could have Mylee stay over so of course we said yes! Took the girls to Target to wander around and look at swimsuits then my mom and dad picked them up and took them to Chick Fil A for dinner, then home.  Meanwhile, Kent and I got a date night at our super (not secret) favorite place- Simon's. It was great.  Kylee and Mylee had fun at home and met up with some friends (boys) at the park then came back home once we were here.

Sunday morning we were FINALLY back at church.  Our lives have been swamped with COVID shutdown, baseball tournaments, general busy-ness and we hadn't been to church in person for far, far too long.  It felt so great to be back. Later we went to Keith and Cindy's to see Grandpa Bill- his birthday is today and they had brought him down for lunch. So great to see him!

We spent the afternoon driving with Kylee- she's really getting good and gaining confidence.  Later she had volleyball open gym. The boys both got home later that evening and they had fun telling us about their trips.  Sounds like both had a great time!

Another full, busy week ahead!
