Wanna see a ton of pictures from the last week? Kylee and I left Tuesday for volleyball Nationals in Las Vegas!
The boys got along just fine here without us. Kase clocked lots of friend time early in the week.
Miracle League fun!
Kylee thought the Las Vegas airport was cool with the slot machines right by our gate!
Meanwhile at home the boys were having a baseball themed night- brought the TV out to watch games and grilled hot dogs.
Kylee found a sweet note from Kase hidden in her bag.
We met up with some volleyball families and went exploring right away!
Kylee and a few other girls rode the roller coaster on top of New York, New York!
We headed back to our rooms after dinner and one of the team moms had goody bags for the girls. So sweet!
The next morning we explored the pool area since we had afternoon wave of games.
The girls all did their hair together each day.
Made it to the convention center! That place was huge.
Back home Kent took a group of buddies to the pool while Kael worked.
Kylee got to play so much in Vegas! I was so happy for her. We came out so strong the first match but ended up losing the first set 26-24 then it was kind of downhill. We ended up 4-6 for the whole tournament which still put is in the top 40 teams in the nation out of over 5,000 teams in this age group! Wowza!
It was a late night with us still playing games past 9:00.
We grabbed dinner at the hotel then went to bed! I was up early the next morning so I got coffee at the Starbucks in the lobby for both of us but waited outside our hotel room until Kylee woke up.
She loved the view from our 21st floor room! We watched planes take off every morning while we had our coffee.
A little more exploring...
Then Top Golf with the team!
It was so much fun and Kylee did great!
It got super hot out so we took a quick dip in the pool.
While some of the girls picked up Crumbl for us! Yum!
Then off for another afternoon wave of volleyball! The girls liked riding the monorail.
Then we found the underground Tesla loop that took us right to our spot at the convention center. It was so cool!
Kylee was HOT. You know how some people get hangry? Kylee gets that but with heat.
We took one picture then she said, "Wait do it again I want to look taller than you!"
This was the last game this team all played together because one of the teammates had to leave for a softball tournament. There were lots of tears this night!
On the way out we saw fireworks!
Then ate at the Tap with the team. We took this picture for Kael since he was working at the Tap back home that night!
Our assistant coach was leaving that night too. Kylee loved Coach Mel!
The next morning Kylee and I decided to eat a real breakfast instead of just chocolate croissants from Starbucks. Wow that was a lot of food.
Back home, more baseball! The kids have loved the time they spent at Game Ready this year.
Then Kylee and I met up with some friends to stroll and shop!
The moms got crazy and put a few dollars in the slot machines while the girls got Starbucks.
They found a Lulu and were so happy.
Then, lunch at PBR. Kylee and I wrapped up quickly then went souvenir shopping for the boys. So fun.
This shirt made us think of Kent- ha! Knowing he was back home working and doing all the house stuff wishing he was with us!
Then, back to the tournament!
Big block by Kylee! She got to play middle a little bit since Jordyn left.
The last set on the third day she somehow tweaked her neck. Poor thing was in so much pain. The trainer stretched her but she was done for the day and the rest of the tournament. She was disappointed but handled it so well.
After the games most of the team planned to go to get dinner but everywhere was so busy and Kylee was in a lot of pain so after walking through the Venetian we kind of split off from the group and had dinner with just one other family.
We met back up with one other girl then strolled to the Bellagio and took some fun photos along the way.
She loved the fountains!!!!
But she was SO exhausted when we finally made it back to the hotel. I was so thankful for some families who had massagers, creams and things to help Kylee feel better.
Back home, the gang headed to the A frame!
Sounds like they had a great day and caught some fish!
Back to the convention center for our last two sets.
We won them both! The last one went to three and we won 15-13! More tears when it was all over.
Then back to the hotel pool where someone generously offered us their cabana since they were leaving!
Back home the boys went to the Slater festival. Also I didn't get any pictures but one night they had fun hanging out with the Simms too!
After we hit the pool, several of the girls were going for dinner but Kylee wanted to do our own thing. We had fun getting a little lost trying to find the Mexican restaurant we had seen.
We thought about joining up with the group but Kylee was so content to just hang out low key with me which ended up to be lucky because we found out later they had reservations at the wrong location then ended up at a Buffalo Wild Wings where they waited for hours for their food. We dodged a bullet there!
Sunday morning we packed up and Kylee got one last use of the sunscreen- ha. This was a running joke the whole time. We hadn't checked any luggage so I didn't bring a big bottle of sunscreen and just planned to buy some at the hotel. I did not, however plan on it costing $56. Yikes!!
Waiting at the airport to go home.
Aww!!! We were SO happy to see our boys!!! Kase had a sign for us even!
And Kael had brought me the last piece of patriotic cheesecake from Trailside Tap that I had asked for!! Love him!!!
It felt so good to be home. The house was spotless, laundry was done, flowers were watered. I know Kent and the boys worked so hard while we were gone to keep everything up the way I usually do and it was so appreciated! My parents even dropped off a few snacks too.
That night we played family whiffle ball, watched AGT then saw fireworks from our roof!
It was a good, good night.
The next morning Kael had early football, Kent and I went on a walk and Kylee slept in. For a long, long time. Like until 1:00! We finally decided to do a pool tour- we had planned to go to the lake but there was algae issues. We thought about Adventureland but since Kylee slept in so long it wasn'nt worth it. We tried to go to Cascade but it was packed. In the end we went to the old pool for a little bit then met Tammy and her kids at the Briarwood pool! It was a perfect afternoon.
Later we had dinner with some friends and fished at their house. A perfect end to the weekend!
