This weekend was a blur of games!
Friday Kent took Kael to Waterfront to try sushi. He said he liked it! Kent is just happy to have at least one adventurous eater out of the bunch and I'm happy when those two can spend time together.
Meanwhile, I finished this awesome and tricky puzzle Kent had given me for Christmas.
Friday night Kylee and I headed to Cedar Falls since she would have early games the next day. We had a fun dinner out with some of her teammates and the girls swam at the hotel. Kent let Kase have a buddy come stay the night and they, along with Kael, went to Urban Air.
Kylee's team had a great day! There are 11 girls on the team and I know Kylee was kind of worried about getting much playing time but she got in a lot and made some great plays!
It was fun to run into some teammates from last year. Yes, these girls are Kylee's age and yes, she looks like a giant!! She has really shot up this year.
Winners!!!
We got home earlier than I had anticipated and Kylee got to go babysit some friends she hadn't seen for awhile. Kael was at a sleepover and Kent and I had our Edward Jones regional holiday party. It was a DJ Trivia Zoom which turned out to be so fun! Kent actually was the very first one to answer a question correctly and our team ended up winning.
Sunday morning Kent and Kase left for basketball in Perry. Kylee was the only one home so we ran to Casey's for donuts and the lady gave them to us for free! We have had such a funny string of things like this happening- on Friday Kase hurt his foot at the trampoline park so they gave us a voucher for a free 2 hour jump! Also on Saturday night Kent ran to pick up McDonald's for the kids and their system was down so they gave Kent all his food for free. Ha! Now we just need to pay it all forward.
Anyhow, Kylee and I joined the boys in Perry later in the day and got to see the last three of Kase's games. His team played hard and ended up losing in the semi-finals. It was their longest day of basketball yet and I was so proud of how well the boys did.
Kylee was such a good big sister, helping entertain the boys between games by playing Tag and Among Us with them.
Tired buddies.
Meanwhile at home Kael took a nap which is unheard of but I found out he had only gotten a half hour of sleep the night before! Then my parents hung out with him and took him out for dinner- so thankful to have family in town as that is a long, kinda boring day for Kael at home while we were gone.
Everyone was pretty tired when they headed off for school this morning. We could have used one more day in our weekend to recover from all our fun! Ha!
