Weekend Wrap-Up

We had a fun, busy weekend!

After being cooped up all last week with strep, Kase was ready to spend all weekend with friends! Friday afternoon these boys went to a pool party at Weston's then all came back here for a sleepover.

They had so much fun together and were so easy to have here.  We grilled out, they played backyard football and just had a great time. Kael even played football with them for awhile and Kylee was at a friend's sand volleyball birthday party.

The next morning we got the boys up early so they could have breakfast before heading to the ball fields.

Whew- making sure four boys had on all the correct pieces of their uniforms, baseball bags packed and water bottles filled was a bit of a whirlwind but we made it! How cute are they?!

We played some great baseball this weekend! It's amazing how far these boys have come in just a few weeks.

It was a HOT one on Saturday and I'm laughing realizing how very many pictures I have with the boys' shirts off!

Kase had still been a little nervous to play after getting hit last weekend but I was SO proud of him for getting back out there.  He hit awesome this weekend! So great to see him gain back his confidence.

Baseball buddies.

Kylee had a fun day going to Dunkin' with a friend, then later spending the day with another friend at her aunt's pool.  Kael spent the day tubing with friends and I'm always so thankful for our village who can help out and hang out with my big kids while we are at tournaments all day!

After our second game Saturday, the assistant coach invited the whole team to his pool.  It was the perfect way to cool down after a hot day and the boys just swarmed Kent in the pool.

It was a great night.  Later Kase went home with a buddy for another sleepover and Kent and I took Kael out for dinner.  So fun spending one on one time with him!

Sounds like Kase didn't get much sleep at the friend's house so I was worried how he would be feeling on Sunday but he looked happy to me!

Love this "Crew"!

We ended up second place in the silver bracket which was awesome.  We came out Sunday morning to just have fun and the boys all crushed the ball. Really fun watching everyone get a hit and coming away with a win.

Both sets of grandparents were allowed and able to come watch this weekend so that was awesome! Really appreciated my parents taking Kylee for lunch between games and Kent's parents for hanging back in Ankeny for a bit to get Kael to Urban Air to jump with friends.

Kent is having as much fun with all of this as Kase is! We've got a great group of kids, parents and coaches and it's been fun seeing what these boys can do. Love that Kent has the desire, time and patience to work with these kids.

Kase was pretty wiped out by the time we left the fields!

Sunday night Kylee was babysitting one of Kase's teammates so Kase went along to swim in their pool and hang out for awhile.  The rest of us had a low key night here.  Ready for another fun summer week!
