Weekend Wrap-Up

Things continue to be off around our house.  Everyone's moods are starting to wear a little thin due to our house continuing to be torn up. I came home from work the other day to this.  At least it means there is progress! We got some bummer news though that the flooring is going to be later than expected but there's not much we can do about that.

Friday night Kylee was at a birthday party sleepover, Kael was cold and tired after football practice, so Kent took Kase to the Homecoming football game and met up with a buddy and his dad there! The boys had a blast!

Meanwhile, I had Kael help me move the pantry back out of his room and back into the actual pantry, which had gotten painted that day.

The next day, Kael left early for a youth retreat at church.  It was his first overnight one and he had a great time! I'm so happy for him.  Kylee had a volleyball game and Keith and Cindy came down to watch.  We also went out for ice cream after the game.  Later, Kylee was babysitting so Kent, Kase and I ran errands.  Typically Kase hates running errands so we tried to make it fun! He had a blast looking at Halloween things and trying costumes on.

Sunday we spent putting up new lights in the basement, then Kase had a football game.  It was so cold and rainy. But Kase was happy to have family there supporting him! He must have waved at us 100 times during the game!

We came home and had a lazy family game/hot cocoa/watch TV afternoon and evening.

When I woke up this morning I was so thrilled and surprised and impressed to see this on our kitchen table! Kylee had drawn this beautiful rose and made confetti to sprinkle on the table! She snuck downstairs after Kent and I went to bed so we would wake up to this lovely surprise on our anniversary morning.  She makes everything so special.

Today is our 13th anniversary- I'm feeling very lucky to have spent these years with Kent and look forward to many wonderful years ahead.  These last 15 or so months have been a whirlwind and there is no one else I'd rather have spent these crazy times with!

We are very hopeful that a lot gets done on the house this week and that things keep moving right along!
