Thankful Thursday

I'm so thankful we are finally getting some answers for Kael.  Poor guy has had heel pain for years now and we've had several doctors appointments, a couple rounds of physical therapy, special inserts in his shoes and nothing has seemed to get him back to being pain-free.

It seems like lately he has been in more pain than usual- of course you would never know it because he never complains about it- but Kent and I have noticed him wincing as he walks.  We took him to the doctor last week and some x-rays were ordered.  Later that week we went to a specialist who found that Kael has an extra bone in his foot that is causing the ligaments surrounding it to not fuse properly.  No wonder he has been in pain!

For now, Kael is wearing a brace until we get home from vacation.  When we get back he will be in a walking boot for 4-6 weeks and hopefully take it easy on his sports schedule although he still really wants to do the triathlon at the end of July!

I'm so thankful that Kael has had such a good attitude about it all and so thankful for a very thorough doctor who suggested these x-rays. I'm anxious and so hopeful that this will help Kael!
