Weekend Wrap-Up

We have fit all.the.fun into the first full week of summer!

Wednesday night we spent in the basement due to some severe storms that passed through.  The kids had so much fun looking at their yearbooks together and having popcorn and watching a movie!

Thursday, Kent got home! They were so happy to see him.  We'd had a full week of camps, games and practices!

Here's Kylee serving at sand volleyball this week!

Friday afternoon I spent at the pool with the kids while our concrete was getting poured for adding onto our back patio.  I'm so happy with how it turned out! When we got home from the pool, we decided to take a trip to Bass Pro to get Kael a proper tackle box for all of his fishing adventures.  While we were there we went bowling at Uncle Bucks!

Kase and his buddies.

And since we were so close, we stopped by Adventureland for a couple hours to close it down! What a Friday night!

Falling Star- Kael and I agree it's one of the best rides there, and the most fun to ride at night!

Saturday morning the big kids had triathlon practice- they worked hard and I'm so happy they're doing it again this year! Later that afternoon we headed to Ankeny vs. Ankeny Centennial soccer state championship! Fun to see a girl I used to babysit playing for the Hawkettes! We were happy the Jags came away with the championship though! It was super hot but the kids were so good.  We promised Tropical Sno at halftime and when they ran over there to get them, the ice was all gone so they couldn't even have any! They hung in there though and had a great time watching some awesome soccer.

Then, we went camping! We went last year and got rained out so we decided to give it another shot this year.  Rain was in the forecast but we ended up having a beautiful evening and got to spend the night out there!
6 kids in the back, anxious to swim!

Love these cuties!

A great night with great friends! And how gorgeous is that sunset?!

The girls had fun picking flowers.

Kael was the fire master! He cooked me a perfect s'more!

Sunday morning we made a quick exit from the campground- it started pouring just as we were pulling out of our spot! So thankful we got the tent and everything put away before the rain came! We headed home to unpack.  Kase was happy to be back in his room building with Trios.

I spent the morning unpacking and doing laundry.  Keith and Cindy stopped by for a visit then Kent and Kael ran a few errands while Kylee and I baked.  Later Kent went to a movie with some neighbor guys and I stopped by my parents' house with the kids.  When Kent got home he played basketball with the kids and took them fishing.  Then we had an early, relaxing night in! It was a great weekend!
