School is finally out for the summer!!!
Kids were excited for their last day. Maybe it's because Kase was in kindergarten but I truly feel like this was the fastest school year ever.
We, of course, jumped right into summer fun!
After school we planned to get together with neighbors for a little pool/slip and slide party. Kase told me, "I'll go after I write in my summer journal for awhile." I can't believe he wanted to get started on his "homework" so quickly! Ha. We did eventually make it to our friends' house and the kids had fun playing. Later, Kael had soccer practice then we went out for dinner
Friday morning there was a groundbreaking ceremony for the new library! Kent is on the library board so we went to go see him!
It was HOT and we planned to meet some friends at Adventureland and hit up the water park but when we got there we found out the water park part wasn't open that day! So we cooled off with icees.
And made a fun day of riding rides!
Later Kylee had plans to sleepover at a friends' house. I had a major toothache so I went to get that checked out (everything is fine), while Kent and the boys had dinner on the deck. Later that night Kael had his last soccer game of the season.
Saturday morning it was back to fishing! The kids can't get enough! It's definitely our favorite summer hobby right now.
Then Kase had a baseball game and we were so pleasantly surprised to have such a huge cheering section show up!
Kase played against one of his good buddies.
We spent the afternoon playing around home and getting Kent packed up for his fishing trip. Later that night our school had a pool party! Of course it has been 90+ degrees for the last week but when it came time for the party it was only high 70s and very windy! The kids still had a blast. Meanwhile, Kael had a sleepover at Grandma's house- they had fun fishing and going out for dinner!
Kase and his buddies got a little cold.
So Kent went to Adventureland and met up with one of Kase's good friends and his family there. They had so much fun.
Sunday morning Kent left early to get on the road for his fishing trip. I spent some time getting a few things done around the house, then the kids helped me plan menus for the week. We've been watching a lot of cooking shows lately so they are super interested in trying new things and learning how to cook on their own. We had a fun time planning, shopping and preparing lunch! We spent the afternoon playing around here (kickball, board games) then Kase had a soccer clinic.
Afterwards we went to my sister's house to hang out. Kids had fun playing together and we had a little pizza party!
We came home and the kids played at the park for a little while before coming in for ice cream and a little old school Wii Party. It was a great weekend and we are looking forward to a busy week ahead!
