Weekend Wrap-Up

How awesome was the warm weather all weekend long? We did our best to get out and enjoy it!

Thursday Kase and I played at Miracle League park- one of our faves.  After school was busy with book club and soccer for Kael and cross country for Kylee.  She got a bloody nose at the end of practice and her coach told me it was the worst he had ever seen.  Poor thing! And they had just gotten their new white running club t-shirts! Kylee is such a trooper and just handles it.  We are getting some testing done this week though to keep an eye on things.  She's just had so many bloody noses lately.

Fridays Kase is at school and I don't have to work so usually I use that time to clean or get groceries- but Tammy called and asked if I wanted to have coffee with her (and Berkley), so that was an easy YES! Nothing better than sitting by a cozy fireplace with a baby on my lap, chatting with one of my sisters.  It was a lovely morning.

When I picked Kase up, we had lunch with Kylee at "Big School", which is where Kase will go this fall.  It was really good practice for him to see what a school lunchroom is! He didn't get a lot of eating done as he was distracted by everything going on around him, but overall he did great!

After lunch we rode bikes to a park nearby.  It feels so good to be outside.  Later that day Kael had a school social, then we had some of our dear friends back in town to visit! We enjoyed chatting with them in the driveway while the kids played.

Saturday morning was a beautiful day for an Easter egg hunt! It was characteristically busy and crazy but oh-so-fun to open those eggs and see what's inside!

The kids spent the rest of the day playing with friends while Kent and I got a few things done around the house.  Later Kent took Kase to play baseball.  He's so excited to start tee ball soon.

Saturday evening Kael's friends came over to celebrate his birthday! They went to SkyZone then came back here for pizza and cupcakes.  Kael made these brownie cupcakes with peanut butter frosting and they were awesome!

Sunday morning Kent and Kylee took a long early morning walk. Later, after we took Kael's friends home, and after church, Kent and my dad went fishing with Rob and they took Kase along.  He had so much fun even if they didn't catch any fish!

Then we all went to Kael's soccer game.  Sunday later afternoon games after a sleepover are kind of tough.  The kids all seemed tired, but Kylee took advantage of the wagon and hitched a ride. Ha!

After the game we made a quick stop at this insanely tall slide the kids spotted on our way into town for the soccer game.  I have never seen anything like it- they loved it!

Had dinner with my parents in Ames before heading back home.  The kids played outside a little, then we were all ready to call it a night. We have a fun week ahead!!
