Weekend Wrap-Up

We keep on managing to cross things off our Summer Bucket list and having a great time doing so!

Friday the kids had so much fun playing trick shots in the backyard.  It was a beautiful morning and nothing makes me happier than seeing them have fun together, just the three of them.

That night we packed a picnic and went to Jester Park! So fun.  Saw bison and elk, played in the natural playscape, had a picnic and did some hiking.  My crew seems happiest when we are outdoors!

Saturday morning was the kids' last triathlon practice.  Both Kael and Kylee scored some pretty cool triathlon racing outfits too! Meanwhile, Kent helped Kase put together this Hulk puzzle they were pretty proud of!

Saturday afternoon we spent celebrating Kevin and Kaity! We are getting so excited for their wedding in Key West and had so much fun hanging with them on Saturday.  Kylee was excited to be a part of the wedding shower and she was in charge of picking out the gifts- she did great!

Meanwhile, the boys got lunch and ice cream at their local fave. Seriously- look at the size of that ice cream cone and tenderloin! Ha!

They also did a little bike riding.

Then we all met up and spent the afternoon swimming! It was a beautiful day with great company!

Kael learned a new frisbee game that he loved.

Then, we packed up and headed to an I Cubs game with some friends!  Kase fell asleep on the way there but woke up just in time for the game.

We were in a skybox which was so, so nice.  The kids had fun seeing themselves on the big screen once! Also, the visit from Cubbie bear was fun, and the fact that a foul ball was hit super close to us made it for an exciting evening! Oh, and cotton candy.  That was a highlight for sure.

Today we had a lazy morning, then spent the afternoon getting a few things done before my parents came to hang with the kids while we went to the Home Show Expo.  I love, LOVE going every year and seeing all the beautiful homes.  The kids and my parents had a great time bowling and having dinner at Uncle Buck's.

Needless to say, we tucked in some tired kiddos at bedtime tonight.  Kase wanted Kael and Kylee to sleep in his room so badly, so we let them give it a shot, but ultimately they ended up in their own beds after reading a few books together.  Sweet moments, for sure.

I did look up the school supply lists online today because I know school will be sneaking up on us before we know it! But we're certainly not letting summer slip away yet- we still have lots of fun things planned.  How was your weekend?
