Spring break

What a fun start to Spring Break we've had!

Thursday after school, Kylee and I got our haircut.  This is notable because I get a haircut like once every 18 months and Kylee typically just goes in with the boys to Great Clips to get a trim.  This time, however, we went to an actual salon and Kylee loved it. Kent also finally used the massage gift card we had given him for Christmas, then afterwards we all went out for dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant in town, then headed home to play a little Twister.

Friday morning, Kase slept in so I got the kids' closets organized, which was a great task to have accomplished! Then we picked up Tropical Smoothies, walked around Earl May getting ideas for our garden, then visited my grandma and stopped by the Miracle League park on the way home.

Later, we tilled the garden, washed the patio furniture, played with boomerangs in the field by our house (the kids are getting so good!), and played at the school park.

Then, we shot baskets with neighbors until the sunset and picked up a pizza for dinner.

Saturday was a great day too! Kent and I went for an early morning walk, then we all raked the yard (another big task I'm thrilled to have accomplished) before Keith and Cindy came down to spend the day.  We had lunch at Benchwarmer's then went to see the movie Zootopia.  The kids just LOVED it.  Have you seen it? It's pretty cute! Afterwards we had frozen yogurt at Yumz, then spent the afternoon hanging around here. Later, Kase fell asleep on Kent while we played some family board games.

Sunday after church we had lunch with my family before Kent left for St. Louis for the week for work.

The kids and I jumped right into having fun- Kylee and I did pedicures then we all played Pie Face.

Kael, resident pizza chef, helped make dinner.

Kase stole Kent's parking space.

Sunday night Cindy came down for a sleepover, then took me and the kids to the Iowa City Children's Museum today! We had such fun! Kids loved all the rooms in the museum and also the big kids got to ice skate at the mall while Kase rode the carousel a few times.

Kael was cracking us up in the theater room in this outfit!
We wrapped up our visit with a trip to Whitey's for ice cream. What a fun day! So thankful for Cindy taking the day off work to hang with us!

Our spring break is off to a wonderful start, how about yours?
