It was a really interesting Christmas. Kylee was still down for the count- she really rallied on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to be part of the fun but poor girl just didn't feel well and Kase was still on the mend too. We still made some great memories though!
Kase needed to finish up shopping for his siblings so we hit Target early one morning and he didn't even feel good enough to walk through the aisles- ha.
Christmas Eve we spend together and look forward to it all year. We take turns picking things we want to do- play games, Wii, etc. But one thing we always do is a family walk! Kylee made it about a half mile before she was ready to go home. She just didn't feel well.
Kent surprised me with a Christmas tree charcuterie board! Honestly it was just a nice, lazy day with the fam and the kids enjoy giving gifts to each other and we have a few gifts for them too.
Kylee gave Kael a Waygu steak- hilarious!!!
Sweet Emma joined us later in the day. She's always a joy to have around.
Christmas Eve church is regularly one of my favorite moments of the entire year. So thankful everyone felt well enough to go.
Keith and Cindy joined us this year too!
Then the six of us went to Ruth's Chris for a fancy dinner. We love doing this since everyone is already dressed up from church!
Kase loved his steak and lobster.
Kylee told Kase he could wake her up at 8:30 for Santa presents and honestly the boys weren't awake much before that anyways. Gone are the days of the kids waking at 3:00 AM!
More protein for our favorite heavy lifter.
Kase was cuddly and wrestle-y all break. I didn't even get any pictures of Kylee and Kase alone with any of their gifts that morning but we had a really nice time. Then we headed to my parents!
The girls.
The whole squad!
These three had a lot of fun together!
Beautiful Kylee even though she didn't feel well!
Central clothes for Kael buddy!
Kase was sooooo excited about his Tech Deck pro and Comfrt hoodie.
And Kent was thrilled about this Pocket Vac!!! He literally charged and used it immediately on my car! Technically it was my gift but Kent will be using this all the time.
But this. THIS!!! It was the highlight of the day. My parents put together a grab bag exchange for everyone and when Kael opened this we all just died. And he was such a good sport about it posing so funny!!! What a memory.
And my parents made these fun wreaths for everyone!
So awesome!
As I said it was an interesting year for Christmas. Before time I just wasn't that excited- the kids are getting older and I just didn't have any fun ideas to surprise them or gift them with and everyone was sick and it just kind of felt flat. But as I look back at all of our pictures I see we really did have a great time and made some awesome memories. We spent the next couple days just organizing the house and putting things away and now Kent and Kase are on their way to Branson with some friends for a little getaway! Can't wait to hear all about their trip. Kylee and Kael have been working a lot and we have also made some time for family movies and sitting in the hot tub. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday.
