Our last weekend before school starts! Friday night we wanted to go out for dinner as a family since Kael would be heading back to Central. We ate at JJ's and one of Kael's friends was our server and we had a really nice time! Then we went to our friends' house and enjoyed spending the evening there catching up with them.
Saturday morning Kylee had a long run and I helped with the parent cross country breakfast so Kent and the boys headed to the lake. Kylee and I headed up as soon as we were available. We had a nice lunch with my parents in Mason City then got news that Kent's grandpa wasn't doing well so he headed back to go see him and I'm so happy he made it there to get to spend some time with his grandpa and the rest of his family. The kids and I stayed up in Clear Lake for a few more hours- played some KanJam and went for a boat ride then got ice cream and decided to head back home so we could be with Kent.
Sunday we got news that Kent's grandpa had passed away. We have a lot of special memories with Grandpa Bill and I'm so glad my kids got to know him for so many years. He was one of the good ones for sure. Kent went to visit his mom, Kael and I went to church, Kylee was with friends and my parents took Kase to the pond. They didn't catch a ton of fish but it was so nice to have them entertain Kase in his happy place! Love these twinners.
Meanwhile, we moved Kael back to Central for his sophomore year! It was so smooth and easy to get him all settled- he packs pretty light. Also helps that his roommate had moved in the day before and his room setup is nearly identical to last years. It was nice to have Kylee along to help and also Kael's girlfriend came down!
He starts classes tomorrow already and I'm hoping he has another amazing year at Central!
