Thursday was a great day! My mom, dad, Cindy and I all went to Kael's first outdoor track meet in Pella. My aunt Connie was there and also Kael's sweet girlfriend Emma. He did a great job throwing discus for the first time at a college meet. Really proud of that buddy and just so darn happy for him.
Emma tried her first Jaarsma bakery donut holes and loved them. Just so thankful for all the fam and friends that go out to support my kids!
Kylee had a meet that day too. After a delayed start due to some technical difficulties, the meet finally got rolling and Kylee looked great! We were in second place when she took the baton and she got us up into first place. We won with a time of 9:53. She was sore, tired, happy, and rushed off to our church's Passover meal they do for the kids who are doing the Walk (our church's version of confirmation).
Kase had been at a workout after school so I've got to give him a shoutout too. Kid keeps breaking record after record there- this time for highest vertical for a middle schooler. Way to work hard, Kase!
He spent the beautiful spring evening outside with his best buddy allllll afternoon and evening and he couldn't have been happier.
Friday Kael didn't have school so he went to Emma's to hang out then came home in the evening. Kylee hung out at Garrett's and Kent and Kase had baseball practice. My dad had his heart procedure this day and we were all so thankful and happy it went well!
Saturday Kylee had a long run with friends. Kael went to the gym, Kase played with friends, Kent and I went for a walk and got a few things done around the house. Kylee went for lunch with friends then to the gym and then we all stopped by Kevin and Kaity's for part of the Iowa basketball game. Kase stayed home with friends to do his MLB fantasy draft. That night we all went out for dinner- it was so nice just having time together us five! Then Kael hung out with his friend Owen.
Sunday was Easter and it was the loveliest day. The kids are all a little grown up to think that the Easter bunny still comes but we still do give them a few small gifts and treats and they were all thankful and happy for their things.
We all went to church together- not only did we have my whole family plus Kael's girlfriend together at church- we had the WHOLE fam from my side! Made me fondly remember the days of going to Easter church with the whole big family (on either/both sides) growing up.
Love these two.
The whole squad! Lookin' good.
The OG five.
My look-alikes. So thankful for them and their families.
Emma and Kylee braiding Kael's hair-ha!
Oh Berkley.
The annual egg-cracking contest! Emma was a little nervous about her first time joining!
And how fitting that Grandpa Terry was the winner this year!
Had a new, fun egg hunt game and everyone came away with some great prizes!
These two laughed about their prizes.
Then it was time to celebrate the April birthdays! We sure fit in a lot of fun this day!
One last egg hunt for these bucket heads.
Then birthday desserts (and glasses!) Love our fun, funny group.
Really loved spending the day with family. When we got home it was a rainy evening so we had a nice relaxing night at home. It's another fun, busy spring week ahead!
