Happy Mother's Day! Here's how we spent our weekend.
Kael threw discus at the conference meet last Thursday. It was not his best day- I felt so badly for him because he scratched all three. He handled it well though and hopefully has a shot this week for redemption!
Friday night we celebrated my mom's birthday at Wig and Pen. It was such a great night together and I was so happy almost all of us could make it!

Kael and Kylee are both happy to be as tall as/taller than Uncle Justin! |
The whole gang besides Rob and Huston who were at baseball practice.
So happy we got to celebrate my mom and make her feel special like she always does for us on our birthdays!! My dad did a great job planning and coordinating the get together.
Love this picture of these two.
We played a "Who Knows Grandma Best" game and all three of us girls answered the last question then finished it with a heart. So funny!
After dinner we went to Kase's football game and Kylee's boyfriend rode along. It wasn't our best game but it was a nice night out there and I'm always so happy when his big siblings come along to watch him!
Saturday Kylee had the State Track Meet. She ran the 800 leg of the Distance Med and the open 800. She wasn't feeling super great all day so I was thrilled when she was top 10 in both races! So cool!
It was a really nice day out and we saw lots of friends she has played volleyball with and done triathlons with in the past so that was fun. Meanwhile, Kase had a couple of baseball games and his team went 2-0 on the day.
Meanwhile, Kase had a couple of baseball games and his team went 2-0 on the day. Kent had a "Wrecking Crew" Home Run helmet made for the boys to surprise them if anyone hit a home run and sure enough, Ben did! So he got to use it! So cool!!
Kael had a choir concert that afternoon and I was so thankful Cindy was able to go and watch and take some pictures and video for me!
That evening Kael worked, Kent and I went for a walk and we just ordered pizza and had a nice night here.
The next morning I woke up to this lovely Mother's Day surprise! Kylee had decorated the mantle and wrapped and set out gifts.
She had also written sweet words on sticky notes and laid them out to spell M-O-M! So creative. She always makes things special.
We had a rain delay for Kase's baseball games so Kent and Kylee went to visit Grandma Cindy to wish her a Happy Mother's Day and I made poffertjes in honor of Tulip Time for breakfast then Kael went to work and the rest of us watched church together online.
Then we headed to Kase's baseball games- delayed because of the rain. The Crew went 2-1 for the day and lost in extra innings in the championship game. Kase had a great weekend.
Love this picture my mom got of Kent and his assistant coach and close friend, Kyle!
I had ordered flowers for the boys to give their moms after the game. Love this group and how they all wanted to spend Mother's Day at the ballfields!
Kase was all smiles and happy to help load the truck after the games. "Mom don't carry anything- it's Mother's Day!" he said.
We were even able to squeeze in our annual Mother's Day dinner out with my mom, sisters and their daughters. Love, love, love that we have continued on this tradition even though I had to show up in my baseball cheering gear while Brooklyn was all dressed up!
Whew, my heart is full. So thankful for my family and friends. We've got a lot of really great people in our village but most of all, on Mother's Day, I'm especially thankful for my own little family and thankful that I get to be mom to my three awesome kids. Life is good, friends.
