Weekend Wrap-Up

Our weekend flew by! Kase was thrilled to be home from vacation to play with his buddies. These three played alllll day Thursday and Friday!

Friday night Kael went tubing with friends, Kent, Kase and I went to hang out at Keith and Cindy's.

Kylee was at volleyball camp then out for ice cream with friends!

Later she joined us at Keith and Cindy's.

Saturday was our much anticipated first tournament for the Ankeny Crew! Love those uniforms!

Kase and one of his best buddies checking things out.

The coaches.

What a fun group!

Kase played really well and had a lot of fun.  We tied the first game. Had a super fun rally moment where our entire crowd just went wild.  The boys were so excited.

The tournament made this awesome poster of the boys!

Kaser on base!

We lost the second game then headed home for Huston's birthday party! The cousins are always happy to see each other.

We had pizza, the kids all played around then we finished the evening by watching the Ankeny fireworks! We had such a great view from there! Kael ended up going to a friend's house who lives nearby to watch fireworks with him.

Kase slept over there and Kylee slept over with Brooklyn. He was all smiles when I picked him up the next morning!

We headed right back to the ball fields and Kase started the day off pitching.

He was doing so well but then took a very hard hit right to his privates.  It was so, so sad to watch happen.  Poor buddy was miserable.

I was so proud of him for getting back out there.  He was a little skittish in the batters box and was worried about getting hit again but he got out there and I couldn't have been prouder.  Between games he refueled with some coffee cake.

He hung in there for the rest of the day, but we played 3 games back to back to back which honestly was a lot, especially for our first tournament.  We did get a win, which was awesome and the boys learned and grew SO much over the course of the weekend.

Meanwhile, Kase was tanking.  He had a rash for the last couple days which I assumed was from all the hot tubbing in South Dakota.  But he was acting super tired which I attributed to being out in the sun all two days playing ball, plus a sleepover in between.  Then when he got hit with the baseball he just seemed off so I had Kent run him to Urgent Care when we got home.  Poor buddy turned out to have a fever and strep! He spent the rest of the afternoon and evening on the couch. So thankful that Keith and Cindy were able to come over and hang out with him and help get him dinner and stuff.

Kael was off tubing with friends again!

And we had purchased Home Show tickets a long time ago for this night so Kent, Kylee and I still went.  It is so rare that Kent and I have a night alone with Kylee and she was just so excited and happy to be going through the houses it turned out to be a really fun night.
