Here's how we spent this weekend!
Thursday night I had Book Club- I love being with this group of ladies and love all their new suggestions for books to read. I'm always on the lookout for a good book! We had a great night out.
Friday Kael had plans to sleep over at a friend's house and he was so excited. Kase decided to try a Friday Fun Night event through the Parks and Rec where he got to go to a school gym and play around for a few hours with other kids, have pizza and play games. He had a great time! Kylee wasn't sure how she wanted to spend her evening with the boys gone, so Kent took her to Starbucks in the afternoon then we just planned to go out for pizza and hang out, but she got a call from a friend and ended up sleeping over at her house. Kent and I stayed home (alone!) and watched a movie- crazy! We never have the house to ourselves on a Friday night. And the kids all had fun.
Saturday morning we planned to get on the road bright and early to head to Ottumwa for our niece's first birthday party but it was snowing! We kept checking the radar, debating about what to do, and in the end we stayed home. We were all so sad to miss it, but I know the road conditions were not great.
So Kase ended up being able to go to his basketball game. It was so hilarious. He and a neighbor friend must have passed to each other fifteen times. So cute. Kase also blocked a shot (but they aren't allowed to in this league) and gave it back to the kid. So funny.
The kids had a lot of fun playing outside in the snow! This is really our first measurable snowfall of the season and they definitely made the most of it. They spent the better part of Saturday and Sunday playing in it!
They are thankful for our little sledding hill behind the school!
There are always a bunch of neighbor friends out playing too.
Saturday night the kids went to my parents' house to stay over since Kent and I had his holiday party. It was a great time with a such a great group of people!
Sunday after church the kids played outside for a long time, then later Kylee and I went to my nephew's basketball game. It was so fun watching him. Later Kent and I went for a walk, the kids played outside some more and then we played ping pong for awhile. Kylee had volleyball then we all headed to bed early. It was a fun weekend!
