Weekend Wrap-up

Friday was our elementary school's annual PTO fundraiser- the Jag Jog! The kids all love this day and I love being able to help out.  It was a chilly, rainy day but the kids didn't mind at all. Kase and Kylee gave it their all and both did great!

Love seeing all these fifth graders take off!

I really love getting to see the kids with their friends.

Kylee adores her teacher.  She even got to tie-dye his shirt for him!

I was glad I caught this sweet moment between Kylee and Kase as he took off and she was cheering him and the rest of the first graders on.

Friday night I went to a jewelry party with some friends.  Meanwhile, Kent went with the kids and some friends to the Iowa Wild game.

Saturday morning Kylee had a volleyball game, then I took Kase and Kylee to Earl May Pumpkin Fest.  I'm so glad they aren't too old for things like this yet! They had fun riding horses and fun in the bounce house and also painting pumpkins.

Back at home, Kael helped Kent with some work around the house.  They moved some furniture around in hopes that our basement carpet gets put in this coming week! Kylee had fun playing on the stacked cushions.

Later that afternoon the kids went for a sleepover at Keith and Cindy's.  They were so excited.  They had so much fun decorating pumpkins and just hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa!

Kael was super excited to get to go on a driving lesson with Grandpa Keith.  I can't think of a more patient and awesome teacher/co-pilot than Keith for Kael. They had fun on the gravel roads up by Collins and Kael drove for nearly and hour! He was so happy.

Kent and I spent the afternoon shopping for a new kitchen table, then we went out for a movie.  It was a nice night.

Sunday we went to pick up the kids and visited both sets of Kent's grandparents.  Later that afternoon Kylee had a Cross Country meet.  It was cold and rainy and she knew the course would be slippery and wet so she was nervous but excited.

She warmed up with her team, then helped cheer a younger teammate on to finish!

At the last minute Kase's football game got cancelled so the boys joined us to cheer Kylee on!

They ended up having all the boys and girls ages 9-12 run together to try and beat the bad weather coming so it was quite a large group!

Kylee looked great and was near the front the whole race.

I had no idea until the finish line that she had slipped and fallen near the beginning of the race and gotten accidentally stepped on by another racer's track spike.  Her ankle was cut pretty badly.  She still managed to get a PR! 12:51 and 5th place which was pretty great considering the tough conditions of the course and also she has moved up an age division and is running with older kids. Her coach encouraged us to get her ankle checked out so we did.  Sure enough, she needed stitches.  She wasn't very excited about it but handled it so well, with no anesthesia, even!

We got home, got cleaned up, and headed to some friends house for Mexican for dinner.  It was just what Kylee needed to get her mind off her ankle.  Also, a little crazy Halloween make-up didn't hurt!

Kase even let the girls dress him up and put crazy Halloween make-up on him.

Meanwhile, Kent took Kael to the Bucks vs. Timberwolves game! Kael was so excited for the game.

Kent was so excited for the Clone Cones.  Ha!

Back at home, Kylee and Kase made some play-doh. Then we had a nice cozy night in.

We were very thankful for a no school day Monday.  The kids were happy to lounge around in their pajamas all morning and play board games.

Later we ventured out to Rocket Fizz to do some birthday shopping for friends.

Then later that afternoon some guys came to fix our basement carpet! We were so excited about that.  Then the rain cleared and Kase spent the day playing outside with his friends.  It was some much needed time outdoors! Kylee went to a friend's house to make some slime.  Kael had football practice.  Kent came home early, mowed the lawn, we had dinner, then played some family football in our *new* basement.

Have a great week, everyone!
