30 things. Because now I'm 30. Also, birthday, round 6.

1. My dad was the first one to call me the morning of my birthday.  We talked about how dreary the forecast looked for the day and he said, "I guess you'll just have to make your own sunshine."  I've spent the last day and a half with those words running through my head, hopeful for a bright outlook on things and prayers for a sunny disposition.

2.  One of my babysitting gals said to me, "One thing I like best about you is that you're always in a good mood." Oh if she only knew...;)

3. Kylee and I painted our nails yesterday.  Matching sparkly pink with purple polka dots, natch.

4. We took an afternoon trip to Starbucks for a quick pick-me-up.

5. As we were leaving Starbucks, it snowed.  On my birthday.  The nerve, Mother Nature!!!

6. Today is my niece's second birthday.  Happy Birthday to one of the smartest, sweetest two year olds I know!

7. Kase's out-of-left-field change in nap schedule is completely throwing off party plans I have for next weekend.  How are we supposed to party when the star of the show will be snoozing?!

8. I have THE.BEST.NEIGHBORS.  Throughout the day I received cupcakes, flowers and wine.  People are so thoughtful.

9. Tonight the kids are spending the night at my mom and dad's so we can go out with friends.  I am excited about the idea of sleeping through the night, but I know I will miss them like crazy.  Kase hasn't spent many (if any?) nights away from me.

10.  Tomorrow we're celebrating my birthday (again! woo hoo!) with Kent's family.  I'm looking forward to a really fun day.

11.  Tomorrow morning we're celebrating Brooklyn's birthday.  Kylee canNOT wait for fancy donuts!

12.  Tomorrow we're also celebrating Kent's mom's birthday.  I have a teensy tiny surprise planned that I'm really excited about.

13.  If you're keeping track that's 3 birthday celebrations tomorrow!

14.  I am heartsick about what is going on in Boston.

15.  I have been working on a summer I'm Bored/Chore Jar/Stop Asking Me To Play Wii//Places to go/Things to do Plan. The kids are going to have fun this summer whether they like it or not! Ha!

16. I'm only halfway through this list and I am running out of things to say.  Your call if you choose to forge ahead or not. :)

17.  I should be cleaning but blogging is way more fun.

18. Kent has been so so so so so so busy with work that I'm honestly more excited for him than me that we get a night out.  He deserves it.  Really.

19.  Last night when Kent told me he thinks that I think he's just a "paycheck and a babysitter" my heart broke into a million pieces and I finally realized that my My Way Or The Highway attitude is not necessarily working.  For anyone.

20. Kase's hair is out of control and I refuse to cut it.

21.  Thirty is the new twenty.  Right? I've been told these will be the best years of my life.  Hard to top college and finding Kent. And welcoming three new lives into the world.  But we'll see!

22. The recycling truck driver just knocked over my neighbor's recycling bin with that giant robotic arm.  I jumped up to go get my shoes to run outside and help but by the time I got back, it was all cleaned up.  I thought.  Turns out it is just so windy out that all the recyclables just completely blew away.

23. Some new neighbors are moving in across the street.  Their license plates tell me they are ISU fans and the fact that they dropped their couch and then an end table on their front porch tells me they wish they had hired professional movers.

24.  I must remember to make some very nice Welcome treats for new neighbs.

25. When I was born, I lived in Sheffield, I turned 3 in Cedar Rapids, 8 in DeWitt, 15 in Ankeny, 19 in Mexico, 20 in Pella, 21 in Spain, (I didn't live in Bondurant long enough to celebrate a birthday there) 25 on Beechwood Street, 30 on North Park Drive.

26. A birthday twin (I have at least 3 that I would consider close friends or family) of mine reminded me how much fun celebrating in Spain together was.  It feels like a lifetime ago and while it was completely unforgettable, I will be perfectly happy spending the rest of my birthdays with my family. Of course that's not to say I wouldn't love to celebrate with them in Spain.  Maybe I can save my pennies and we can do that when I turn 40. I'm almost certain Andrea would be up for a return trip!

27.  Speaking of birthday twins, Kael found someone in his school that was born on the exact same minute of the exact same day of the exact same year as him.  What are the odds?

28. Kylee routinely wears socks with flip flops.  She also hikes her socks up so high that the part where her heel is supposed to be hangs out over her tennis shoes.

29. I wish I could wave a magic wand and all the things I have pinned to my "For The Home" board on Pinterest would magically show up in my house.

30. Have a great weekend, guys!
